Open since 1985, our restaurant offers a Swiss and European cuisine which is very comforting, including our traditional raclette dish. Founded in the Swiss Alps, this typical dish is offered here with the same authenticity as where it came from. La raclette, which is also the name of the cheese used for this dish comes from the action of scraping the cheese melted by a heat source to your plate. So you can enjoy this dish already prepared for you in your plate or using our oven that allows you to heat and scrape the cheese at your table. Also, in the purest tradition, this dish is served with cold meats (ham and beef) which comes from the region of Grisons in Switzerland, our pickles and pickled onions and potatoes. The quality of ingredients and simplicity are all the charm of this traditional raclette.
Moreover, apart from our traditional raclette dish, we offer a variety of other delicious dishes that stem from a long tradition of Swiss and European cuisine, such as our fondue cheese, thinly sliced veal Zurich and other delights to discover...
La Raclette is described as a cozy, warm spot where the cheese is a highlight and portions are generous, with the service and atmosphere frequently praised. Many reviews note that the prices can feel high for what is offered, with extra charges for certain raclette options or supplements for more meat, and some mention a sparse vegetarian raclette option. The cheese quality and fondue are repeatedly praised, and the accompaniments such as charcuterie and potatoes are cited as strong points, with desserts like a chocolate dome receiving compliments. The service is often described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, though a few comments point to slower service when the venue is busy. BYOW is highlighted as a plus in several reviews, and the overall experience is seen as a good fit for date nights or groups, with many saying they would return despite price concerns.
La Raclette is a cozy spot in Montreal serving authentic raclette melted tableside. Excellent quality cheese, generous portions, & great pairings with cured meats & potatoes. Warm atmosphere & friendly service make it a perfect place for a comforting, indulgent meal. Highly recommended.
Exactly what it's supposed to be! Cozy environment, friendly service, & yummy food. We were 4 people & shared the cheese fondue & the raclette. Chocolate dome for dessert. Everything was yummy & we left so full! A bit pricey since it's BYOE but that's to be expected. Perfect for a date night with your partner or with friends!
I am giving this restaurant 5 because as far as satisfying the cheese need for raclette this restaurant does it. BYOB is a nice touch. Service is top notch attentive & knowledgeable staff. You will be presented with a large amount of food & lots of cheese. You will leave full & satisfied. I will say the price is somewhat expensive but I say totally worth it as raclette is a delicacy & I don't think there are too many options for the cuisine in the city. So if you want a fun interactive experience with a very niche cuisine don't hesitate!
You'll find a cozy spot to indulge in some tasty raclette cheese. The atmosphere is super nice, the service is friendly & the cheese & meats are delicious. It's a really great pick if you're in the mood for something comforting & satisfying! Be aware the budget is a little high but extremely worth it for everything!
Functional nut not great setup for raclette, but adequate plate sizes. They do have weird cheeses that don't melt right though, so stick with the traditional raclette cheese.
Located in a residential area, it's cute, with warm ambiance & great food. We (4) ordered two experiences to share: Classic Cheese Fondue for 2pp & Raclette to share for 2pp. Great selections of meats for raclette. We ended up trying everything & all delicious. Although, It's so much food!. We didn't like the cold soup "gaspacho", It might be for specific tastes. I feel the price could be on the high side for a whole family, so be sure to check the prices before you go. The BYOB option helps, so it won't break the bank. My waitress was estressed, not very patience to explain how the menu works for raclette & fondue for a first time guest, the hostest explained for me. The waiter even opened the proseco & the alcohol jumped out & he forgot to clean, so my table was sticky all night. I'll come back, but definetely will hope to have a better service

We had a wonderful time! We had intended to have fondue, but our son wanted steak. So we did the all beef & cheese melter. It was delicious & so much fun! Such a special, cozy evening. We needed that! Thank you guys so much! Happy New Year!
It's s cute cozy restaurant. The service is professional. We took la pierette aux viandes for 58$ per person we got what you in the picture. The waitress told us that we will get 5 kinds of cheese though we got 4 (each). We lacked fire at the end that was annoying. For the quantity quality the place is overpriced the table was definitely not worth 116$ though the concept is cute & it's a nice date idea.
The service was okay & the interior is nice, but the only good food is the sliced cheese. Everything else isn't seasoned & it's all microwaved. They have 3 microwaves out front & you can see them just microwaving the veggies & potatoes. The potatoes didn't even have salt. The salad was wilted like it was made in the morning. The vegetables were very similar to the frozen bagged veggies you'd get at the grocery store, & the spicy salami looked very similar to the Costco stuff...Shocked at the price. Do yourself a favour & buy some cheese, melt it, & steam & season some veggies yourself. It'll be much better. Two stars for the decent service & the interior.
Best raclette & Swiss fondue in town. If you're not into cheese, the meat or seafood options are always well prepared. Love the bring your own wine option.
Fun & exciting food experience, cozy welcoming vibes & warm staff! we definitely satisfied our cheese need with the European style raclette. Recommend going for a fun night out & BYOB, making it a more affordable resto experience these days!

A great dining experience in the neighborhoods of Montreal; away from the tourist traps. Our service was great. The staff were attentive, & very helpful in teaching us about the different menu options, They created a very comfortable, relaxed & social atmosphere. It was a great way to close the weekend after F1 race.
We enjoyed a traditional European style raclette. More than enough food. The soup was fantastic. The salmon tartare appetizer was light & flavorful. The cheese & meat options of the raclette were well paired & varied; offering different flavor combinations to sample throughout the meal. Highly recommend getting the signature dessert (Melting Chocolate Dome) to finish things off...enough for 3 to share.
We will definitely recommend & come back on our next trip to Montreal. Don't miss this gem on your next visit.
Great night with friends! Restaurant was great & the service was fantastic! Cheese fondue was so so so good & so was the pierre/stone was also superbe ! How was the desserts you ask?! It was also fantastic - overall, the evening was wonderful, can't wait to go back !
Absolutely fabulous dining experience. The food & service was exquisite. One of the best dining experiences we've had. We had butternut squash soup, followed by a delicious beet salad & finishing with the cheese fondue. The cured meats were delicious & the bread was perfect. We topped off the meal with a chocolate dome smothered in a whisky cream sauce. Wow! Would totally recommend this restaurant if you love top quality food & ambience.
Over the last ten year's have been coming to this restaurant. Always terrific service & the food is fantastic. Never have they been inconsistent with any dish my husband & I have ordered throughout the years. Returned at the reopening this past weekend & I tried the salmon, absolutely delicious. I took a cheese plate to go for a picnic the next morning from their take out site & I was impressed, the presentation was top notch & was an abundant serving. Always at the top of our lists of restaurants, if you haven't been here yet your missing a great experience.
had an AMAZING time at la Raclette. Had melted Raclette cheese to start & then fondue as our main. amazing & authentic. Would presume that we went through about 5 baguettes & the wait staff was definitely good about topping it up. Brought our own wine so we had a lot which is always great on a Saturday evening when you're tryna get toasted. The chocolate bomb was iconic. The wait staff were the sweetest most out of this world amazing people. I wish I could go back every day but I don't live in MTL. My bestfriend who DOES live in MTL should (& might) go back every day. I will 10000% be back next time I'm in MTL
