I was invited to the terrasse opening at La Paella, & even though classic Montréal spring weather made a surprise appearance (yes, the rain came & we had to move inside), the evening still had such a great vibe.
I started with a glass of their white wine sangria-light, fruity, & way too easy to sip. Then came the tapas lineup: spicy patatas bravas, creamy salade russe, salty prosciutto, & a playful chicken poutine that gave a fun Québécois twist to the Spanish spread. Everything was cozy, flavorful, & perfect for sharing.
The terrasse itself is super charming, with a view of the Village that's full of energy & personality. I'll definitely be back when the sun decides to stick around. & while this event was all about the tapas, I've got my eye on their paella next time-I mean, it is in the name.

We tried their $35 set menu which includes shareable paella & tapas 👏 & let me tell you, the portions were huge! Perfect for sharing, & such a great value.
I loved the variety of tapas 😍 each one packed with flavor, & the paella? Absolutely delicious.

Première fois que je goûtais à la paella &… wow, vrai coup de coeur ! Chaque assiette était aussi belle que délicieuse. Les drinks sont super bien faits, frais & savoureux. We began our meal with the charcuterie platter, a beautifully curated selection of European-style cheeses & delicately sliced cured meats. The addition of Spanish sardines was a welcome touch, enhancing the dish with a bold, briny depth. Each bite was an exquisite balance of flavours & textures, making for a perfect introduction to the meal.
Of course, we couldn't visit La Paella without indulging in their signature paella-a stunning presentation of saffron-infused rice generously layered with seafood, chicken, & aromatic spices. The dish was cooked to perfection, with each ingredient complementing the next, delivering an authentic taste that was both comforting & refined.
To conclude our meal, we opted for the crème brûlée, a dessert that truly encapsulated indulgence. The first crack of its caramelized top released a delicate aroma, giving way to a silky, velvety custard beneath. It was the perfect sweet finale to a well-balanced feast.
With a passionate chef at the helm & a commitment to authentic flavours, La Paella excels in both taste & experience. Whether you're here for the drinks, the ambiance, or the expertly crafted dishes, this charming spot delivers on all fronts.
