La Medusa comes across as a warmly welcoming Italian spot in downtown Montreal, offering fresh, well prepared dishes that cover pasta, seafood, pizza and antipasti, plus a strong wine list. Reviews consistently note friendly, attentive service and a lively, family friendly ambiance that suits pre or post game outings near Centre Bell. The food is described as authentic Italian and often excellent, with many praising the pizza crust, the pasta textures and flavorful sauces, though a few mentions call out a risotto that is too salty or prices that can be high. Some moments of slower service or busy nights are acknowledged, but the overall tone points to a reliable favorite worth returning to, including interest in private dining spaces for celebrations. Overall the place is regarded as one of the top Italian options in the area, delivering consistent flavors, helpful staff, and an atmosphere that makes diners feel at home in the city.
Decided to come here for supper one night out of the two I was in Montreal, & I could not have picked a better place. Reserving a table was very easy, finding the place was also simple. The servers we had were awesome; very friendly, helpful & funny. Eat here & you won't regret it.
The food was good but it wasn't worth the 1.5 hour wait time. The restaurant was not busy (Monday at 8:30pm) & our waiter only came to our table to take our order & bring us the food. He didn't come back to ask if we wanted drinks & we had to wait till our food came to refill our water. There were a couple people who came in after us & had their food way before us. The staff was pretty cold to us but were more friendly & chatty with the people who appeared to be regulars. I wouldn't go again & I wouldn't recommend this. We were ready to walk out before the entree showed up.
