I would give it 3.5 stars if i was able to .. 3 is too low, & 4 too high..

Lost points for A: price &

B: how long our first course took to arrive ... especially considering none of our food needed cooking except the ravioli..

( but as wife pointed out , there is a ticket order, but in my opinion this is where an experienced person to expedite shines )

Food price , for what we ordered at least, was a bit high...

it took 45 minutes for our food to start arriving.. but once it started, the following services were prompt..
I wonder how long it takes when capacity is full..

Service was friendly & attentive..

Space ( upstairs terrace) was pleasant, cozy & quiet..

The mushroom ravioli was a delight...
The yellow beet salad wonderful ( but overpriced)..
The charcuterie platter for 2 , ordinary & overpriced (that was the biggest let down) ... the smoked char was excellent...

Presentation was very good.

Complementary amuse bouche of Homemade pita with hummus as well as a lime granita pallet cleanser was a nice touch...

I will be returning & will choose better value dishes next time.. because on the dishes we tried.. cost to price charged, was 4 or 5 times cost..

when it s a dish that cannot be replicated by a home cook, that is ok.. but when it is not'fine dinning' then that is a bit high.

All in all a very nice evening & a nice meal... had we been charged $30 less , it would have been 4 stars.. my wife has been back a few times & she always enjoy the visits. i finally went back this june 2025 & this is what i thought . The staff is as friendly & unobtrusive as ever. i had endive & pleurotte salad & my wife had avocado salad on roquette with fruit.

i was not blown away by the pleurotte salad. it could have used one or two more mushrooms , & unfortunately the mushrooms had to much of the woody stem part left on. the endive was nicely shaved but the biggest issue was the dressing. it was desperately crying for some acid to brighten up the plate & counter act the bitterness of the endive. my wifes avocado salad was lovely. nice presentation & good mixture of richness , biterness & sweetness. i will have that in the future. my main was the bavette. i very much enjoyed it . it was tender & cooked on point . i was a bit let down that i got mash instead of fries . i had not been offered the choice so i assumed the fries were the default. this said ,the mash was very nice, they had it in a mound that was browned & crispy on the outside & fluffy & savory inside . Veg well cooked & tasty . the steak portion was generous for the price ($34) but they could add a bit more veg & potatoes , especially considering how little those cost. My wife had the squash ravioli ,good but not as good as usual . last time we had these we thought'oh my god, these are so good' this time it was adequate . the ravioli was $30 for 8 ravioli.. almost 4 bucks a ravioli.. desserts were good but on the overly sweet side. i had paris brest my wife had a bowl of ice cream trio. the bill .. avocado salad , pleurotte salad , squash ravioli , bavette , paris brest pastry , ice cream , glass of milk & one coffee was $135... its a bit on the high side , but i understand the economics . im looking forward to trying the trout, the boar & the smoked seafood trio

PS i did find myself reaching for the salt a few times... ( dont tell the chef)

my rating remains the same . its 3.5 this time the service was very prompt, but the dishes had more flaws than expected & the price is still a bit to high for bistro cuisine . but its still an enjoyable place for a good meal ,its always at the very least, good & the staff is very friendly & the terrace is the best spot in the house .View more

We realized why this gem is such an institution in the West Island. Great French food perfect for a family dinner or a special date night (like in our case). My hubby did the gastronomic menu with wine pairing & every dish served to him was well thought out. It's a good choice for first timers. I went with ala carte & had their beet salad, foie gras terrine, magret du canard & their gluten free chocolate cake. Our server Charlie did very well timing our courses together despite having different choices. Overall very good experience!View more

Came here for our 2 year Anniversary & it didn't disappoint. My wife & I started by sharing the house wine ($16 for half a litre). The value was absurd for Montreal restaurants & it was quite nice. Basically got 2 full glasses each. For our main, we shared 3 dishes: the wild surf & turf, the yellow beat salad & the goat cheese & veggie shortbread. The yellow beat salad was extremely delicious & very fresh. I would highly recommend it. Didn't love the goat cheese/veggie shortbread. Found there was not enough shortbread & it was mostly an arugula salad. The surf & turf was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The sauce they use for the deer really brings out the flavour, & the lobster tail was very fresh & tasty. My only complaint would be that it's quite small for the price point ($52). For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake with ice cream & hot peppers. It was really delicious & tasted exactly like cake & ice cream with a little kick. The peppers didn't overwhelm the dessert at all making this a very unique dessert. Service was really nice. Felt like we were the only ones here even though the restaurant was full on the inside. Didn't rush us at all but was also very present & pleasant.View more

The food was excellent, however suggestion that a bread basket would be appreciated instead of only one bread per person. Firstly, our servers were there as soon as we sat. Very friendly & polite staff. We started with the snow crab raviolis, which was delicate & delicious. We then had a salad course, the golden beet salad was perfect, my friend had the caesar salad which was also very good. The main course took 45mins to get to the table after they removed our plates. We had no bread or anything to keep us busy, however the other tables around us had all been served, & they were larger tables, while we were only 2. The main dishes were also perfectly cooked when we did receive them, however they were lukewarm & the plates were piping hot. It was obvious that they were sitting at the window for a while. The duck was a perfect medium rare & delicious. The salmon was also prepared to perfection. The desserts were equally wonderful. Crème brulée & blueberry cheesecake. The noise level is quite high in certain sections. The wine by the glass wasn't even close to 5oz, at the most I was served maybe 4... All in all, we enjoyed the food, be prepared for a little wait between service.View more

My husband & I eloped in Vancouver in October 2020 after postponing then cancelling our Mtl wedding. Nearly three years later, on October 8, 2023, we had an intimate wedding reception at La Maison Verte. It was a dream!

The venue itself is already very cozy & charming. I was able to bring in some decor (table runners, bud vases, candles, etc.) the night prior & our florist came the day of the event to finish off the tables.

The food was impeccable. The soup, the salad, main courses, desserts! Our guests only had great things to say! They timed the courses in a way that when we'd be done eating, we'd be able to open up the dancefloor, making sure that other patrons were gone so as not to disturb them.

The staff was so nice & proactive! My cousin came with her 3 month old baby & was so grateful for all the help she received! From fixing my dress before I walk down the aisle (upstairs terrasse), to bringing my husband & I some champagne & canapés while we retreated from our guests after the ceremony, to bringing our cake in & out of the kitchen for pictures, etc. The staff were true gems!

Lastly, it was a pleasure working with Eric, the manager. We had a couple of requests that we communicated very last minute & he was very flexible with us even though we would've completely understood if he didn't want to.

If you are looking to host an intimate wedding in the city (we were 67) in a setting other than your typical reception hall, where food is mid, music from 4-5 other weddings is blasting into your event, & prices are ridiculously expensive, La Maison Verte should be on your top list.

More pros: enough parking for all your guests, lovely park at walking distance for photos during cocktail hour if you choose to take some (unfortunately it was raining during golden hour so we didn't go), drinks are excellent (we opted for an open bar & added it to our tab).View more

Assiette de fish & chip décevante. Poisson trop cuit & salade ordinaire.

The whole meal from start to finish was top notch. I had the Cesar salad followed by the turkey cutlet. My wife had the soup followed by the bison steak.
Both meat dishes had their own distinctive mushroom gravy. Greatly recommend this restaurant. Gregory

Exceptional service, food was devine & wine selection is excellent. Prices are reasonable!
The quality amazing. We were 11 adults Easter Sunday lunch. Some of us had soup starter, others had the salads. Our group each choose from the Easter menu...rabbit, lamb, filet mignon, halibut, homemade ravioli EVERYTHING was delicious!! Nonna, an exceptional cook, gave it 👍👍Our home away from home.

Great meal from start to finish. Attentive service by Jacques & attention made to food allergies for one of the guests made for a relaxed evening.
Beet & Goat Cheese salad, Onion Soup at Gratin, Sweatbreads, Arctic Char & Fish & Chips was enjoyed fully. Clean plates & full bellies were the end result. Add a delicious bottle of Sancerre too! We shall return soon!
