They even had gluten free couscous for my spouse & mother in law! The ambiance was fantastic & cozy, though people with mobility restrictions might have a tough time. Service was friendly & encouraged us to slow down & enjoy the meal & moment with one another. Mint tea at the end was a highlight!
I finally visited here after numerous suggestions from my friends. The three of us ordered what he recommended, which seemed like a course meal: soup in the beginning, an appetizer, & 2 big meat couscous platters + 1 veggie couscous. The portions were very generous; personally, I liked the chicken couscous more than the other two. Very flavourful, & it was an eye-opening moment trying my first North African food. The owner was kind enough to explain the menu & offer suggestions. This is a great spot if you want to be bold & try a new type of cuisine that's hard to find.
I walked in & was greeted warmly right away. I asked the chef if I could get served food within 10 minutes because I was in a rush, & he smiled & reassured me it'll be ready in 1 minute. He told me the options. I picked the vegan vegetables & couscous. It was ready in 1 minute like he said & tasted great & the portion was really decent. The sitting areas were relaxing, beautiful & spacious. He checked on me to make sure I was happy... Thank you !
The decor transports you to a totally different world, so warm & welcoming. The lentil soup was perfect, tasty & a little filling. The main dish (chicken & olive stew on top of couscous & beef & date stew on top of couscous) were so filling & freshly made. Absolutely worth it. 5/5 for everything. Loved it. Also, the service was super fast, we were served within 10 min & I'm so glad because I was starving & left satisfied
Merci!
The food & service were absolutely incredible! This place deserves a way higher rating. We got the course meal with lentil soup & then a mixture of chicken & olives, beef cooked with dates & raisins, & lastly a vegetarian option (carrots, zucchini, tomato, onion, chickpeas) all on top of flavourful couscous. Afterwards, we were served mint tea (sweetened). Everything was delicious! The owner (i presume) always came to check up on us to see if we enjoyed the food.
Absolutely amazing experience, gentleman who runs the restaurant was an absolute pleasure to deal with, offers gluten free & vegan options for his meals. Some of the best gf couscous I've ever had.
Highly recommend the hibiscus drink he serves mid summer.
On voyage, on s'évade, merci! :)
We were seated at a cute low table & the server explained that it was a fixed menu. They offered to separate my vegetarian from my companions meal, which was appreciated. The first dish was a lentil soup which tasted good but was pretty watery. The main couscous dish was substantial but basic in terms of flavour, presentation & ingredients.. We were never offered a drink & when our meal was served we were missing forks & knives. We never saw our server after again even though the restaurant was actually empty. I guess this could be a good restaurant if you're very hungry because the portion sizes are big, but for the price I found it underwhelming.
It was Fantastic! They were really sweet & patient with my daughter & the food was sooo good! I am usually a picky eater but their soup & couscous were delicious😍 especially the beef made with date sauce👌 The tea was good too but just a bit too sweet, so if you dont like your tea too sweet, remember to ask for no sugar. Really worth the price 🙌🏼 Also they dont have a menu they always serve the same thing,a small bowl of lentil soup for each as an entree with pita, then a big plate of couscous with sweet beef, chicken & veggies to share between everyone (the plate on the picture was big & for 5 persons). Finally tea & a little piece of some type of coconut'cake' I dont remember what they called it😅 anyways So so good ❤? would recommend to go before 8 pm on weekends because it fills up fast
A great place to check out if you want a unique dining experience! The atmosphere was incredible & made you feel like you were abroad, the service was great as the people were very nice, & the food was incredible. Soup, large couscous blend enough for two, & a Moroccan mint tea at the end. I suggest going here if you'd like to try something new in the city!
If you're ever in Montreal this restaurant is an absolute recommendation! The interior & atmosphere is just so authentic & detailed. You take your shoes of & sit on little cushioned benches. There is no a la carte menu just couscous with different toppings to share. It's going to be too much but don't worry they have to go boxes & it tastes amazing the next day. After dinner we got complimentary mint tea (a bit on the too sweet side) but that's how the do it back home. We enjoyed the food a lot & would definitely come back
Parfait ! Excellent! On a adoré !
