Reviews describe La Beignerie as a standout all vegan donut shop in Montreal, known for big fresh donuts with inventive flavors like creme brulee, pistachio, passion fruit, apple fritter and biscoff, and for a cozy playful vibe with friendly staff, though seating inside is not available and payment is often cashless. Many say the donuts are delicious, with a soft texture and vibrant glazes, and praise the variety and freshness, while some flavors are noted as exceptional and others as overly sweet or a bit heavy and a few are not fully filled. Prices are described as high by some, though many feel the vegan offerings justify the cost. Several reviews raise sustainability concerns and suggest improvements such as more waste reduction, bringing own containers, and more recycling options, and a few mention flies around the donuts. Accessibility is noted as an issue with no ramp in some cases. Overall the place is viewed as a must try and a go to for vegan donuts, with many visitors returning on multiple trips for the flavors and the all vegan commitment.
An adorable place, with really good vegan donuts! I had the powdered sugar jam one & it was just oozing with goodness. We also got a creamsicle milkshake which was fabulous! Ended up bringing home 6 donuts & they were really enjoyed by all! Service was very polite & efficient. Will be returning!
Bravo pour ce nom français (avec jeu de mots en plus) qui respecte & fait briller le caractère français de Montréal! Une initiative qui devrait en inspirer d'autres.
I tried the crème brûlée & the caramel Instagraham donuts. The crème brûlée was delicious, but the caramel donut was a bit too sweet for my taste. The staff was friendly & welcoming. It's worth a visit if you're in the area!
Just ditch this place & go to Bernie Beigne instead. This spot is somehow super famous in Montréal, but honestly, the donuts are the worst I've had. I gave it three chances over the last few years, & every time it was a letdown. The last time was so bad I actually threw it in the trash & I'm a full-on sugar addict who never wastes dessert. I usually eat anything remotely sweet, so that says a lot. Total hype, no flavor.
They have all vegan donuts & these are the best donuts I ever had. I would definitely suggest their chocolate & biscoff flavour. If you want to try something new, you can definitely have their earl grey donut which is surprisingly tasty. Maple & walnut donut is a must try if you like the maple flavour. Also, Rhubarb with strawberry donut is something new & good.
La Beignerie is an all vegan donut shop we wanted to try in Montreal. It has a cute big sign in the front so it wads easy to spot.
Accessibility - My husband is the one that went inside, & I stayed outside with my niece. I was in my wheelchair & there were either 1 step from the street or a few steps leading to the shop. They had no ramp so I decided to stay outside. It was a nice day & there are benches right outside their shop on the pedestrian walk. They also have their own private space right outside their shop for their customers. That was also a step up from pedestrian walk leading to the shop.
Donuts - we loved them, we loved how they had different flavors to try like creme brulee, a few I dont remember the names but tasted so good. One was passion fruit, other one was keylime, lastly we got boston creme. All donuts we got tasted very rich. You really tasted the actual flavors of the fruits & didn't taste from concentrate.
Payment - my husband said they had a sign that they opnly take cards for electronic payment, no cash. He forgot to take a pic of the reason for no cash, but I think it;s safer if they dont have cash at hand. Unfortunately for older people like my Dad who prefers cash, maybe just ask their kids or grand kids to get them this treat.
Discovered this donut shop by pure happenstance while walking to find a dessert place in the pouring rain... The donuts here are insanely good!!! A little pricey, but well worth stopping by, especially when you're drenched & need to brighten your evening... 🍩🙌👍
OMG C'est toujours trop bon! Dommage que les beignes pâte de biscuits ne sont pas toujours au menu ;) Ça nous force à essayer autre chose, on n'est jamais déçu
