Cozy vibe, friendly staff, & delicious comfort food - especially the smoked meat & poutine. Perfect place to unwind with good drinks & great company.
Aye the smoked meat slaps here. get the smoked meat poutine & don't look back ever.
Old man is the sweetest & kindest server out here. Ask him about the local draught beers & he'll educate you all about them.
An absolute brilliant hidden gem. Must visit!
Melhor Poutine eu já comi no Canadá. Eu e meu marido amamos! Super recomendo!
Nous avons souper à l'intérieur & découvert une déco sympa, avec une belle musique d'ambiance voyage total
la poutine reste la meilleure que nous avons dégusté lors de notre séjour
Bien accueilli nous avons vécu un très bon moment
Huge potion of poutine finished our stomach. Would advise share your dish with your company so that you can try something else.
We are so glad that we stumbled upon this restaurant! We had a delicious lunch at a reasonable price for great portion size. The staff was friendly & helpful. We enjoyed freshly made Montreal meat club sandwich, & a Montreal poutine. Absolutely delicious! We would recommend & hope to have lunch again during a future visit.
We tried this place out of random & wished we looked at the reviews. We ordered poutine & quebecoise poutine. The fries were so hard & crispy but the gravy was really good. The drinks were ok but overall we would not return. The waitress was super nice & friendly but otherwise I was disappointed.
La Baraque Restobar Cafe offers a decent dining experience with a variety of options to suit different tastes. We tried the vege poutine, veggie burger, & chicken fingers. The vege poutine was satisfying, with a generous portion of fries, cheese curds, & gravy. However, it lacked a bit of seasoning to make it stand out. The veggie burger was well-prepared & flavorful, with a good mix of vegetables & spices, though the patty was slightly dry. The chicken fingers were crispy & well-cooked, a solid choice for a classic dish. Overall, La Baraque provides a comfortable atmosphere & decent food, though there is room for some improvement in flavor & seasoning.
Every thing was super awesome! The smoked meat poutine was by far the best I had ever tried! Big portions! Super delicious ❤️ the Montreal pizza was very good too thank you chef Michael❤️
Excellente poutine
Bon choix de bière
Mais de grâce ne commander pas de cocktail il n’ont pas de vrai barmaid ou barman & n’y connaissent rien 🙃!
They had a nice old Montreal experience sitting on the cobblestone roads eating under large umbrellas. Very cute & a fun setting. The food was good. My wife & I split a vegetarian pizza & poutine with bacon & I had a beer & she an Irish coffee. The food was a bit over priced but that is per the area, but I was more surprised by the price of drinks. Her coffee was 15.99 & my beer I believe was 13.99 for a 16oz. The staff was very friendly & nice & we never felt rushed or anything, they did take a while to bring us the machine after we were given our bill though we had to remind them. My only other complaint is that online it says they open at 11, but they didn’t open until after 11:30 which things happen so not a huge issue. I would recommend this place truly for a nice experience. It was a fun lunch spot.
Stopped there for quick bites. Tried the classic poutine & chicken wings. Food was alright. Server were alright! Overall good experience. They have outdoor sitting arrangements & that’s why we randomly picked this spot for a quick bite.
Located in Old Montreal, eating on the patio seemed like a part of the experience. Food was good, I had the poutine & smokes meat sandwich. It was pricey for the type of food, but expected given the prices in the area. Like I said, all part of the experience.
Poutine was premade fries with few cheese cubes put in microwave oven. Pizza was ok for $19 for 10 inch personal.
Most disturbing part was on 36 bill, the server added $6 tip without asking. I am not against tipping but what annoyed me is she did not bother to ask. We were in rush so didn't want to argue. But for 2 items to pay $42 is insane
FYI. Those who are trying poutine first time, please don't eat it here. Fries are not freshly made nor the sauce. Instead you can try recipe at home.
I'd recommend any vegetarian food seeker to try some other options.
The poutine was alright, wasn’t very mind blowing. It was quite delicious, the fries were crispy not soggy from the sauce. The portion was not that big as they said they were for two people. I would say if you are very hungry, the portion is ideal for one person. We did not order anything else from the menu.
We were lucky enough to have found this hidden Gem in Montreal.
Absolutely by far the best Poutine I've ever had! The club sandwich was also delicious!
Great Service, great food & friendly atmosphere. Not to mention, the most amazing home made gravy!!!
It's a MUST TRY!!!!!
Ask for Jean! He was a sweet & plaseant man!!!
Thanks again & we can't wait to make this our go to place while visiting Montreal!!!!
