L'Académie Restaurants has established a unique reputation for value, service and ambiance since the opening of our first location in 1984. Our "raison d'être" has always been to offer fine cuisine in an elegant ambiance at reasonable prices. I got the impression that everything was cooked from frozen. The Coquille St. Jacques was hot on the outside yet frozen on the inside. The parmisan fondue was not fresh. For the muscles dijonnaise, the muscles themselves were ok, but the sauce had no flavor, even after adding salt & pepper, which I never do. The table d'hôte lobster linguini had the same problem, NO flavor. The lobster itself was good. The sauce not so much. A friend had the veal parmisan. She had a tough time cutting it. It was overcooked. When pointed out, the server went to speak to someone in the kitchen. The message we got was that that's how it is cooked there. Another person at a close by table said theirs was tough too. None of us stayed for coffee, tea, or dessert. The service was quite good. The wait staff is professional & attentive. It's unfortunate that the food did not live up to expectations. Food is too expensive with no taste. We won't be returning. You've been warned.View more

Mes plats, une coquille St-Jacques & un tartare de saumon, étaient corrects, mais j'ai dû attendre très longtemps & demander plus d'une fois pour avoir du ketchup avec mes frites. Une fois notre table servie, plus de personnel en vue. La serveuse m'a dit qu'elle allait en chercher en servant mon assiette, puis est disparue & n'est pas revenue pour voir si tout allait bien. J'ai dû trouver un autre serveur & le lui demander. Les côtes levées de mes amis étaient bien tristes, sèches, qu'il fallait couper au couteau à steak, & plutôt décevantes au goût. Enfin, on m'a chargé le plat de mon amie, qui coutait plus cher que le mien, & je l'ai malheureusement réalisé le lendemain.View more

We celebrated a 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday July15th for some very dear friends in this resturant.
There were approximatly 50 guests.
Our section was served by a very pleasant young lady, Kassidy. She took cake of all our requests & always checked so see if we needed anything.
Kassidy was part of this excellent experience.

We went to the west island location on May 16th 2023. We ordered a Cesar salad (not fresh, from the fridge & old rusty salad at 12$ each) (It was not a good sign). We then ordered the surf & turf, the shrimp were good, the lobster tail was ok, but the filet was over cooked, warm (not hot) & we both couldn't eat it. ... it was terrible. We mentioned this to the waiter & asked if the manager was aware... seems they didn't care, brought us the bill & we spent 200 bucks & left hungry & disappointed. IT WAS BAD....
