Kyodai Izakaya offers an authentic Japanese pub vibe with a cozy, lively atmosphere where fresh, flavorful small plates like takoyaki, gyoza, karaage, tataki, ramen and udon are served hot and nicely presented, paired with a varied sake and cocktail menu. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, helping guests feel at home and making meals feel special whether for a casual night out or celebration. The space, decor and music contribute to a welcoming character that many describe as transporting to Japan, while the menu delivers strong favorites and occasional standout dishes such as unagi udon, duck tataki and curry katsu. In short, Kyodai Izakaya is a dependable go-to for tasty Japanese tapas, great drinks and a memorable, convivial dining experience.
We really enjoyed our time at restaurant we order a little bit of everything & the fact that they had a lot of options for street food was so nice also hot sake was really nice just the main dish was mediocre we order Katsu carry & Ramen
Fortunate discovery! We were heading some other place, but they were booked. This restaurant had more tables & was not too crowded. The service was fast & friendly! The food was great for a great price!
Went when we were looking for a quick meal before seeing a comedian. The staff understood that we were in a rush & were very nice enough to put our order as priority. The vibes are immaculate, music is good not too loud, & the food was delicious. Will definitely go back when I have more time to try the rest of the food/drinks.
Amazing food, quick service & great vibes. It feels like going through a portal to Tokyo, Japan. (I've been to it so believe me when I say that). Also the server named Eddy was just exceptionally thoughtful & helped us find a table with only 30 min before the start of a movie & helped us get served very quickly. Although the place was full, he remembered our time limit & also came to ask if everything was okay throughout the experience. 100% would recommend & go again soon.

I usually always leave my tip in cash, so I was really surprised to see that a tip had been automatically added on the payment terminal without my consent. I only noticed it after the transaction was completed.
I didn't appreciate that the server took the initiative to add a tip on their own. A gratuity should always be optional & left to the customer's discretion.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but this felt misleading & not acceptable. I recommend making sure customers can clearly choose the tip & confirm before processing payment.
Food was poor. Absolutely no effort being made by the kitchen. Everything tasted very frozen, from the chicken, the tempura, the grilled mackerel. There was enough salt in the food to salt the dead sea. Should've known something was off when the fried chicken came ball-shaped. Service was great, the vibe was nice, there's potential if the kitchen puts in some effort.
We came on a very quiet Sunday night & honestly had an amazing experience! The waiter gave us an incredible service that normally you'd get in an upscale restaurant & everything we ordered was so fresh delicious! Especially my ramen soup one of the best I've ever had! This gem is worth coming to often!

We saw reviews saying that the Duck Tataki is one of the best dishes. Unfortunately, I have to disagree because the meat slices are so thin, you don't even taste the duck. I have had my fair share of Duck Tataki & this is the worst one I ever had. It's expensive, mediocre tasting & the meat is paper thin.
We also ordered their Chicken Katsu Curry Rice, it was decent but the portion is really small too.
Okonomiyaki is the only dish that we think it's tasty, fairly priced with a decent portion.
The vibes? Immaculate. The music? Banging. Eddie? The best. So much fun on my birthday trip to Montreal. Highly recommend the mackerel & the Mt. Fuji cocktail. If Google gave me 6 stars, Kyodai Izakaya would get 6 stars
