At Kwizinn Vieux-Port, co-owners Michael Lafaille and Claudia Fiorelli bring a vibrant fusion of Caribbean flavours to the heart of Montreal's Old Port. Chef Mike Lafaille expertly blends traditional Caribbean spices with contemporary culinary techniques to create unique fusion dishes such as our octopus carpaccio, lobster poutine, plantain burger, and bao fall of di bone. The bold use of fresh herbs, rich marinades, and zesty sauces brings out the authentic and vibrant flavours that define Kwizinn Vieux-Port’s Caribbean fusion cuisine.
For a more immersive experience, Kwizinn Vieux-Montréal offers a range of special events throughout the week. The staff are repeatedly highlighted as knowledgeable and friendly, providing thoughtful recommendations and care that enhance the experience. While some reviews mention price reflections and occasional slow moments, the overall sentiment points to a standout dining experience worth returning for and recommending.
The chicken wasn't even a half chicken like in the menu. Wife said it was dry. Fries were dry & could barely eat them. The rest was good though. Overall disppointing a bit.
La bouffe était très bonne , le service impeccable, une bonne ambiance. Le seul bémol c'est le manque de personne noire dans le staff a l'exception du cuisinier. Mais je retournerai manger à cette place . Je recommande ce resto
The food are super good & the ambiance are really good service is A+ I Recommend it everybody to come & try this incredible food I'm soo happy to be here. & the chef Mike is amazing so I give Chfe Mike 5 Star for the great decoration great food & service thanks for the waitress & The great service definitely I will be back 😋😊🤙
Beautiful place! I admire the effort put in the decor: the photos are authentic, showing a glimpse of culture & everything else, from the painted walls to the shells at the bar give off tropical vibes that makes you escape reality when you enter the restaurant. I love how the place is run by a small family as opposed to a franchise because they are much more genuine & friendly. They do an excellent job at making you feel welcome & can even crack a few jokes here & there with you. Apart from that, the food is outstanding. They have unique ways of presenting their dishes which would not be found elsewhere; for instance, how the burger is served with plantain patties as opposed to burger buns & it comes with yucca chips that are fried there instead of french fries. Sure, some people may say that the food/drink is a bit pricey, but I've seen it be made first-hand which involves many, MANY steps & ingredients that is put into each individual serving. Likewise, some of these ingredients are hard to find & are imported directly from the country of their origin. All in all, if you haven't tried Kwizinn yet, you're definitely in for a treat;) & it merits multiple visits.
To be totally truthful...I was not the one who ordered...but I was given a HUGE pièce of your griot. The pork tasted good....it was a tad undercooked for my taste (PINK) ....but what really motivated me to write a review is that I could see herbs on the pork....but I could not taste them! Were they really old herbs or what
Let's face it this is 2020....you are opening a new restaurant....you need to make a MEGA impression with your dishes...you need to create the craving that will make peopleorder, & order again....
J'adore voyager. Merci!!
