Honestly enough can't be said about @krapow.ca located in the heart of Montreal. This unassuming spot in one of Montreal hottest neighbourhoods has been serving up delicious Thai food now for 5 delicious years. I'm just so upset at myself it took me this long to come visite!
I have to start off with one of the stars of the show the Laksa. Absolutely show stopper of a soup, can't remember the last time I've had such amazing depth of flavour in a broth. Truly beautiful balance between savory, heat & umami. A elite move if u wanna take this dish to the next level in my opinion is to add the Sambal Belacan Chicken on top. It adds a layer of crunch & texture overall to the dish that to be really adds. You can also add anyone of their 3 in house Sambals to it, all were just amazing. The noodles had amazing bounce to them, the toppings all perfectly curated. Honestly a 10/10 dish, FOODGASMIC💦 to say the least! & I like to add, everything they have is gluten free!
Next we have the Beef Rendang, origins now focusing on Indonesia & boy this dish really transported me there! It's was so flavour packed full of Spices & herbs, slowly cooked for hours & hours that the meat just feel apart in yoyr mouth. Honestly I can't believe I've only ever had this dish 3 times in my life & this time had to have been my favorite tbh. This rich, sweet & savoury Stew is just what I needed.
Last but not least we have the famous beef Krapow for what they are famous for. Honestly I've only ever had this dish made with pork so I was wondering what the difference flavour notes & textures might be. Truthfully, really pleasantly surprised. Not to much heat which was a little odd because normally every time I've had this dish it really just burns your face off. But I guess they have to keep it a little calmer for the whities LOL. But again really well balanced dish especially with the fried egg on top it really lends a richness to the entire meal you break it up & eat it all together really well done. My only thing if I were to give anything to improve or add to this dish definitely a little bit of heat, & cripier beef, but still 11/10!View more

See the food? ABSOLUTELY BODIED IT. My wife loved the hell out of the faux meat krapow & I couldn't agree more. I got the beef rendang while her mom got the papaya salad. & YUMMERS. Also, the lady working here is super helpful too. She even went & helped us with parking in the area since we're not local. Amazing place will definitely come again for out next visit.View more

Unfortunately will not be ordering again since they switch the beyond option with the gusta faux beef. Lost it's juiciness & addictive taste that made us come back over & over. Now it is a lot more drier, still tasty but a lot less.View more

Idk what the bad reviews were for, the food is amazing! 🥲 As a South East Asian, this is easily one of the best versions of Krapow & Beef Rendang I've ever had. Everything was so spot on. If you're not used to spice or bold flavours, this is probably not for you. Also loved that the presentation was translated in the takeout box. There was a bit of a wait today, but well worth it in my opinion. I couldn't stop eating, it reminded me of

This truly is'the best takeout in Montreal'. The chefs are always on point. The rice is perfectly cooked, so is the egg, which is still runny inside. The beef in beef krapow is so flavorful & so unique, it's like nothing I've tasted before. The portions are great because it comes out to two meals for me. Although, it was our first time trying your signature dishes on Super Bowl night; your Krapow Beef & Randang Beef portion was kindly generous & tasty but yet was greatly disappointed that them temperature of our dishes weren't steaming hot (& coconut rice wasn't fully cooked) & atmosphere of resto was also on the cool side.
Sadly, both my sister & I had gotten a severe upset stomach plus other symptoms 😢

I ordered the beef Rendag via doordash. The taste is good at first since it has tasteful spices. However, the dish was Extremely Salty!! I had a hard time finishing it. I think it could be a good dish if they reduce the salt a bit, I would order the other dishes since it might be only this time that they accidently added too much saltView more

Gluten free friendly, simple, light, & healthy. Everything on the menu is spicy, but even though I have low tolerance to spicy, I was able to eat most of the krapow beef I ordered. I took out the rest. Still for what it is, I thought it was a bit pricey.View more

My partner is a celiac so the gluten-free menu was what drew us here but the food was incredible. We shared the two beef dishes on the menu, including the signature Krapow Beef, & both were awesome. The baby bok choy that accompanied both dishes was also out of this world good. We plan to go back again this week before we leave Montreal. Delish!View more

Amazing food! The beef Krapow was definitely the highlight of the meal. It has a very "homey" feel to it. Delicious food & super nice staff. Had both the beef & chicken plates. Chicken was my favorite, although beef is also really good. Bonus points, everything's gluten-free, so coeliacs come & have fun! My coeliac wife really enjoyed the place & had no reaction at all. Fully recommended🙂View more
