Nous avions beaucoup d'attente car on avait entendu que du bien de Knuckles. Mais malheureusement, nous avons été plutôt déçus. Le service est assez froid, les plats ne sont pas tous équilibrés en saveur (trop d'épices, trop de chèvre, trop d'acidité...), & surtout, nous étions venus pour plusieurs plats du menu en ligne qui n'étaient plus disponibles car la carte n'était pas à jour. Mon binôme culinaire ne boit pas que du vin nature & il n'a malheureusement pas eu le choix. Allez jugez par vous-même!

Exceptional! What a wonderful little gem of a place. From the moment you walk in, the staff was incredibly welcoming & professional. The menu is explained in detail & patience. We tried a few different dishes, all made with precise balance, smart plating & rich flavours. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
Un souper mémorable au Knuckles: un clin d'oeil aux Bibs Gourmands du Guide Michelin...
Hier soir, j'ai eu le plaisir de découvrir le restaurant Knuckles en excellente compagnie, assis au bar avec une vue imprenable sur toute la salle. L'ambiance chaleureuse, la vaisselle rustique mais soignée & le décor à la fois rétro & élégant m'ont immédiatement rappelé certains des restos cités par le Guide Michelin Québec (e.g.: Liverpool House, Joe Beef, etc.), tout comme la cuisine généreuse & raffinée - à la différence que les portions, ici, sont plus mesurées, mais tout aussi satisfaisantes.
Le service a été irréprochable, assuré avec professionnalisme & gentillesse par Rémi. Petite attention qui fait toute la différence : il nous a offert un shooter de gin & vermouth blanc doux pour clore le repas avec finesse & classe.
La clientèle, bigarrée & de tous âges, contribue à l'atmosphère conviviale du lieu. Mention spéciale pour les cocktails à moitié prix pendant le 5@7, une belle surprise qui ajoute à l'expérience.
Côté assiette, nous avons été comblés : chaque plat était un vrai régal, avec une mention toute particulière pour la dauphine rossini, absolument décadente. Nous avons aussi savouré les deviled poppers, les fameux knuckles (recette maison de la grand-mère du proprio !), les pleurottes BBQ, & le cigare au chou thermidor (un seul dans l'assiette, contrairement à la photo du site, mais tout aussi délicieux).
En résumé, une soirée parfaite, où l'on mange à sa faim dans une ambiance décontractée & chic. L'addition de 215 $ (TSC inclus) était tout à fait justifiée pour la qualité de l'expérience. C'est certain, nous y retournerons !

A memorable dinner at Knuckles: a nod to the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmands...
Last night, I had the pleasure of discovering Knuckles restaurant in excellent company, seated at the bar with a breathtaking view of the entire dining room. The warm atmosphere, the rustic yet carefully crafted tableware, & the retro yet elegant decor immediately reminded me of some of the restaurants cited in the Michelin Guide Quebec (e.g., Liverpool House, Joe Beef, etc.), as did the generous & refined cuisine-the difference being that the portions here are more measured, but just as satisfying.
The service was impeccable, delivered with professionalism & kindness by Rémi. A small touch that made all the difference: he offered us a shot of gin & sweet white vermouth to round off the meal with finesse & class.
The diverse clientele, of all ages, contributes to the friendly atmosphere of the place. Special mention goes to the half-price cocktails during the happy hour, a lovely surprise that adds to the experience.
Food-wise, we were delighted: every dish was a real treat, with a special mention for the Dauphine Rossini, absolutely decadent. We also enjoyed the deviled poppers, the famous knuckles (a homemade recipe from the owner's grandmother!), the BBQ oyster mushrooms, & the Thermidor cabbage cigar (only one on the plate, unlike the website photo, but just as delicious).
In short, a perfect evening, where you could eat your fill in a relaxed & chic atmosphere. The $215 bill (including taxes) was completely justified given the quality of the experience. We'll definitely be back!
This feels like the happiest restaurant in Montreal. The food was happy, the patrons were happy, the servers were happy. The food is creative & fun. Loved it.

Belle ambiance parce qu'on a soupé tôt mais en quittant le restaurant était bondé & c'était quand même bruyant. Tout le reste, le personnel, le chef, la nourriture, tout, était largement au delà de nos attentes.
Excellent restaurant & service impeccable! On s'y sent comme à la maison grâce à un décor chaleureux & accueillant. 😊 Chaque plat nous a été expliqué avec attention, & tout était délicieux. Une vraie belle découverte - mes amies & moi on recommande!
