Nous avons été au Knox pour un souper en famille. L'endroit est beau & nous avions une table ronde parfaite pour discuter puisque nous étions 6. Malheureusement, le restaurant semble n'avoir aucune isolation sonore. Il y avait une table juste derrière nous qui parlait extrêmement fort, plus de 87 décibels. On était incapables de s'entendre & c'était vraiment désagréable. Ça faisait mal aux oreilles.
Côté nourriture, c'était très décevant aussi. J'ai pris les pâtes « olio e aglio » qui étaient un spécial & elles n'avaient aucun goût. C'était littéralement des pâtes à l'huile très simples que j'aurais pu faire à la maison en mieux. Le saumon était très épicé avec une sauce qui n'était pas mentionnée au menu (il me semble). Les tacos étaient bons. Le steak frites était bon au goût mais servi froid avec des frites très molles.
Pour les polpette, on avait demandé si le plat venait avec du riz & la serveuse nous a dit oui, mais finalement non. Même chose pour le katsu. C'était bon, mais sans riz ni accompagnement, ce qui est très bizarre pour ce genre de plat. On nous a aussi apporté du pain avec un spread qui était franchement pas bon.
Au final, l'expérience n'était vraiment pas agréable. Trop de bruit & une nourriture très ordinaire. Nous avons payé rapidement & quitté sans envie de rester plus longtemps.
In life, there are two kinds of people: those who cook like they love food & those who cook like they do not like food. Knox cooks like they love food (food that was a joy to put in a mouth, indeed). & yeah, another thing that, alas, our distracted mind or palate tend to sometimes overlook when that happens: mastered seasoning, very precise / judicious all along this meal (something not to take for granted, as even ambitious tables, they do not always get it this right). I do not know Knox, my first time here. I just discovered Knox by accident while looking for something else that they were known for (they do not have it anymore on their menu, actually), but I cannot complain as it was a nice discovery for me. Subjectively a coup de coeur, & objectively one of our most creative & best tables. Chefs with a great palate. Excellent service, too!
We rented out Knox for a staff party & had a truly excellent experience. The food & cocktails were awesome as always, but what really stood out was their hospitality. Planning it was a breeze, & their level of attentiveness throughout our event was top notch. Thank you to Julian, Ben, & the whole Knox team for showing us a good time!
Didn't put our order in & came back to tell us it was a problem with POS system (30+mins without even an appetizer). Every other table didn't seem to have an issue only ours. They offered to bring us a drink as an apology but returned to clarify that it wasn't'on the house' for the trouble & we would need to pay after they brought the drinks. Atmosphere was nice but wouldn't return because of service. Not for the price.
This was a really great spot for service, atmosphere & location. Unfortunately everything is so expensive these days & 30$ for a subpar pasta dish is not going to motivate me to return. Also we split a bottle of red wine 3 ways & my bill was still 93$ for one person!!!!!

Good restaurant, the lighting was a little too dark for my liking (I had to open my phone flashlight which I think takes away from the vibe of the place.)
I ordered the pork & sprouts, & both were very good. However, the carrot cake was a bit lacking in my opinion. It was very cardamom-forward.
Also, I was really looking forward to trying their corn ribs (as stated on the online menu), but the menu was different in person.
Cozy restaurant, real Montreal vibes, good food.
I wish the lighting was a bit brighter (couldn't see anything) & the online menu was updated (what I had originally planned on eating wasn't on the real-life menu...)

Fantastic service which just adds to the great drinks & amazing food. Don't skip the hot honey brussel sprouts or their pasta of the moment. Never fail top pick for an amazing date night or cozy dinner with friends.
Knox was a cozy & rustic chic vibe. The brussel sprouts were the highlight, the tater tots were alright. For the main we shared the steak frites & the beet salad, both were very good. Ben was super friendly, professional & tended to our dining needs. The Heineken was cold & the old fashion was perfect. Ideal spot for a nice casual warm dinner with great company, or a quick cocktail.

It was okay, went twice, 1 year apart, the food was good, the waiters & bartenders were a bit lax, both times I left with the impression that service wasn't the top priority.
Generally speaking, I don't even notice service which means they are doing a good job, I don't know what it is but both times I went someone I was with pointed out the same thing, something was off.
If it was once I wouldn't bother to leave a review, but twice is worth something.
Lovely atmosphere, great wine collection, & usually the food is great! However, last time I went, the food was cold & the flavor of the mains was disappointing

The brussel sprouts are amazing!
The steak & frites was the highlight, it was perfectly cooked in the inside & had a crispy chard on the outside, reminded me of a chicago style steak. The new eggplant ravioli was very good as well! The carrot cate with pistachio & cheese icing was also amazing.
Knox was a great experience & the staff was very friendly.
Easily one of the weirdest service I've ever had at a restaurant. Waited quite a bit of time for a drink & an appetizer. Then after an hour wait, had to ask when the main order would arrive. Essentially, this restaurant doesn't serve the next dish unless you explicitly tell them?? LOL & to top it off, the ravioli were raw & my steak was very undercooked…Will not be back!
