We ordered a few cooked dishes & still don't know what made us extremely sick. I usually don't complain & don't write reviews but I don't wish this to anybody so I just want people to be aware. I was surprise we got sick in a "high-end" restaurant. We think it was the cooked foie gras or the cheesecake. When I spoke with the owner she mentioned: We cook our dishes before & then we warm them up before serving. That caught my attention that maybe that was their mistake we were paying for all night & all day. It just too scary to go back there.
Having been to Knot d'Asie over half a dozen times, I feel like I need to now leave a legitimate review... This has to be one of the best fusion restaurants I've ever been to. The attention to detail of the dishes, the flavors, the freshness & the service is exceptional. With a massive menu with tons of variety, a fun cocktail list, there's something for everyone. Hugely recommend - easily one if the best restaurants in the Soulanges region. Try the vegan truffle roll!View more
My husband & I are both very pleased with this wonderful restaurant! The food is always delicious & the ambiance is great. I will precise that neither of us eat fish or seafood so we usually stick to chicken dishes, particularly the Chicken Katsu or General Tao - (this is a very good Tao, unlike many other restaurants!!) For appetizer we LOVE the Bao bun fried chicken Katsu, I am tempted to order 3 of these as my actual dinner sometimes because they are so yummy! I wish I took pictures, (next time I will), because the presentation is also very nice. They put a lot of thought & hard work into the design & decor of this restaurant, & it shows! I would also like to add that we had a lovely server called Lavera :) She was very friendly & warm. She had a wonderful personality & a sense of humor that made me laugh out loud! We cannot underestimate the value of good service, it makes us want to come back & visit more often - Lavera if you happen to read this - thank you! You're kindness was so much appreciated :) That's it for now, we look forward to our next visit!View more
1. Drinks were mediocre. Not tasty. 2. It took them one hour to bring one appetizer & then 15 more minutes to bring a simple dish. 3. The dish wasn't good at all. Terrible combination of ingredients & sauce. 4. The ambience was overcrowded. 5. The waiter was very nice & kind, but not knowledgeable about drinks & food. It is unacceptable for customers to drink alcohol & then wait one hour for one appetizer. & in total 1 hour 15 minutes for for a main dish (which was simple). Chef & bar mixologist need some training. Reducing number of tables would create more pleasant ambience, & ultimately less waiting time. The waiters should know more about dishes & drinks.View more
First time visit & we were very happy & will definitely return. Food choice was extensive, food quality was amazing & service was friendly & at the perfect pace. Had the bao pork buns as appetizer which were very good. Main dishes of crab & shrimp poke bowl & general Tao chicken were both excellent. Definitely recommend!
We had dinner here on New Year's Eve for the second year in a row. It is truly a culinary pleasure if you love Asian flavours. The presentation of the appetizers & main dishes is so beautiful & the flavours are magical. Everything is so well balanced. You don't need to cross the bridge for excellent downtown Montreal flavours & ambiance! The prices are so reasonable too. What I recommend: the torch pressed sushi is a must, the nap buns are so yum, the autumn leaves appetizer is so gorgeous & delicious, the Pho is full of flavour, the beef vermicelli noodles are excellent. Love the open kitchen! I hope this restaurant continues to succeed in this difficult time for the restaurant business.View more
Eventhough I have a soy allergy I can eat what I want because they adapt my meals to my needs . So greartfull i can enjoy asian dishes.
Ate here on a Saturday night & we both enjoyed our meal. Dishes are made for the western palate but are prepared very well. I would give most dishes an A+ with the exception of the Seafood Ceviche (it was not a ceviche, nothing tasted like it was cured with an acid with the exception of the pickles) & the Chilean Sea Bass (it seemed like it was coated in flour & fried, which overcooked the delicate fish). The welcoming we received was cold & I think they should better train their front of house staff. I’d try this place again.View more
Food was good, but I was disappointed that every dish that I got served was on a chipped plate.
That takes something away from the looks & desirerablity of the food.
Also food was a little cold.
Our dish sat waiting for too long on the counter while our waiter served other guests.
The won ton soup was excellent.
The Rangoon dumplings superb.
But our noodle dish & rice dishes were not hot.... they were cool ....
Not sure if we will return.
Might give them a second chance because the food is different from the average "Chinese" dishes.View more
I have an allergy to soy. The staff took great care of me. I was able to enjoy a variety of dishes that normally I cannot enjoy. Thank you so much
AMAZING FOOD, however dissatisfied with the service. Server did not understand the order. Main course served before starters. Plates not served at the same time for the guests. Took 45 minutes to clear the table after, was sitting with the dirty dishes on the table. Inexperienced staff. Restaurant overbooked & noisy hinders the ambiance. Surprise dessert at the end but most probably would not return soon.
Dinner was awesome. Service & dishes were excellent. Thue need to reconsider to reduce tip option defaults though.
Review only based on the fact that it was a "soft opening", we had 4 dishes & 1 complimentary appetizer, we were there for almost 3hrs....they have great potential but are going thru growing pains! We wish the owner(original owner of Zento)best of luck! We know she can bring this new resto on the block, to the same caliber as her other successful resto!
Dinner at Knot d asie had great expectations but unfortunately only great disapointment Have been to Japan several times & really great Asian Fusion restaurants in Vancouver & San Francisco but Knot tries to make plate presentation its centerpiece Their dishes although elaborate are very mediocre overpriced & small portions . The only dish that stood out the soft shell crab sushi. Sake was served luke warm & sent back to reheat The waiter was pleasant & tried his best
