If you're searching for the real kunafe experience in Montreal, Knafé Stop is the place to go. I've had kunafe in many cities, but nothing compares to what they're doing here, it's authentic, perfectly balanced, & made with real Nabulsi cheese, which is incredibly rare to find in North America.
The kunafe was golden, crispy on the outside, & wonderfully gooey inside with that slightly salty, stretchy Nabulsi cheese that melts in your mouth. You can tell they're using traditional ingredients & techniques, it's not overly sweet like other places that try to imitate the flavor. The sugar syrup is just the right amount, allowing the richness of the cheese & semolina to shine through.
The portion was generous, served warm & fresh, & the texture was spot-on: crunchy top, soft base, & cheese that pulls beautifully. I also appreciated the friendly & welcoming service, the staff were happy to explain the ingredients & even share some of the history behind the dish.
Whether you're familiar with Middle Eastern desserts or trying kunafe for the first time, Knafé Stop delivers an unforgettable experience. You can taste the care & tradition in every bite. J'ai eu le plaisir de déguster une kunefa vermicelle dans ce restaurant, & c'était tout simplement délicieux ! J'ai essayé ce dessert dans plusieurs endroits, mais ici, c'était vraiment exceptionnel. Les saveurs étaient parfaitement équilibrées, & la texture était divine. En plus de cela, l'accueil était chaleureux & le service très respectueux. Une expérience culinaire mémorable que je recommande à 100 %.
