Review Summary

Overall, Kim Hour is remembered for tasty, reasonably priced dishes and large portions that invite sharing, with many items like noodles and shrimp highlighted as standouts, and the dining experience described as welcoming and friendly even when the place is busy. Service quality can vary, sometimes attentive and warm, other times less present, and a few orders have been miscommunicated or slowed. The move to Jarry Street is noted, and the new location is seen as a solid option that can accommodate groups thanks to the round tables. Parking is sometimes hard to find, and washrooms are described as average. Despite the occasional hiccup, the consensus is that Kim Hour offers good value and flavorful food, making it a must visit for those seeking Asian dishes in the area, with some nostalgia for the old location.

This Chinese restaurant has Vietnamese speaking staff & has a variety of Asian dishes that are quite reasonably priced when you consider that most of the dishes are large enough to be shared by 3 to 4 people.
The best way to enjoy this restaurant is to order several different dishes & share with friends/family....
We were a table of 5 people & spent only about $120 for supper , which is quite acceptable.

This restaurant is located in Saint-Michel area, in this part of Montreal, the population are quite diverse, just like a United nations. It has free parking Infront of the restaurant & more free parking are available on the right hand side. The restaurant specialised in Chinese cuisne chiu chao style & Thai, it's clientel are mostly asian, what that means is this is a authentic chinese restaurant that serve authentic traditional dishes, it is a relatively big restaurant, its capacity is around 200 People, it's decor are simple & traditional, it has 20+ tables, most are bigger round table for the whole family. As for the food, we ordered 4 specialty dishes like Boneless chicken feet,Thai style, it is quite spicy & serve with alot of onion , coriander, shredded mini pepper & shallots, another dish is Tong choi (hollow vegetable) with fermented chinese cheese (fu yu), this one is ok, the third & fourth dishes that we ordered is the fresh clams in black bean sauce & boiled beef with house soya sauce, these two dishes both are excellent, our family had downed 2-3 bowls of steamed rice for that, overall the food is good, we really enjoyed it, I will recommend this restaurant for anyone that likes Chinese cuisne.

Kim Hour is the best chinese/Cambodian fusion restaurant. Never disappointed when I come eat here. The menu has lots of choices, so you’ll find something to eat!! It always hit the spot!

It is also a BYOW, so it’s nice to have a drink & the delicious food!

It is a family run business & like a lot of business, hiring staffs haven’t been easy. So the service may not be consistent, but they are doing their best to serve a very busy restaurant.

Very decent Phnom Penh noodles. The very few places in Montreal that serves this kind of dish. The only major complaint is that they were not making the Chinese doughnut that are usually accompanying this kind of dish & they weren’t doing the Chui chow Siu mai anymore. Otherwise, very good place to try.
