Review Summary

Kazu is widely celebrated as an exceptional Japanese restaurant in Montreal, recognized for its authentic flavors, creative dishes, and vibrant izakaya-style atmosphere. Many visitors praise the high quality and freshness of the food, particularly highlighting the seasonal specials displayed on the walls, the katsu curry, and the grilled fish options. While the restaurant is consistently busy and often requires waiting in line, most patrons feel the culinary experience, efficient service, and reasonable pricing make it well worth the time. You know a place is good if you see a lineup. Don’t let that deter you though; Kazu is worth the wait as their food is so tasty at very reasonable prices.

My sister & I arrived around 7:15 PM on a Sunday night & waited about half an hour to be seated. The service was great & the food was delicious. We were seated at the bar & were concerned with the table space as we ordered a ton of dishes. Surprisingly, everything fit & the pace of the food coming out was perfectly timed. We may be small girls but we have big appetites so we cleared those plates. No crumbs we will be back!

L'attente est longue MAIS ça vaut la peine! Tout est excellent: la qualité & la présentation des plats ainsi que le service.

Went here for a friend’s bday & it was amazing! We were 6 so we expected a long wait (1h30) but it was TOTALLY worth it. We had the shrimp burger, chirashi, beef bibimbap & 48h porc & every dish was amazing!

Best Japanese Izakaya restaurant I’ve been to! They have lots of seasonal dishes aside from the menu. The food were all savoury & delicious. Only thing was that the line is quite long. If you can wait then the food worth it all!

Every time I visit Montreal I make it a point to eat at Kazu. It's a small restaurant that's full of life & bustle. The staff are super friendly & the food is phenomenal. 10 out of 10! I would give it 6 stars if possible
