The place was nice, it was an All you can eat sushi before but now it's a restaurant. Just average not worth for the price sadly.View more

Nothing special, the sushis were really not that good, spent close to $150 for 2 person.View more

Wow. Better than expected. -Miso soup -TEMPURA Deep fried shrimps & veggies (perfectly crispy) -IKA CHUKA marinated seaweed salad with squid & octopus topped with sweet & sour dressing (delicious….) -ALL SORTS OF NIGIRIS (fish on top of rice) salmon, tuna, sweet shrimp, octopus, squid, grilled eel) ***gotta try the Eel especially! -some different specialty sushi rolls My husband & I were taking our sweet time to eat every little pieces. Very happy with our waiter, & service. Quiet little place to have a nice quality time with your loved ones. Definitely will go back again!View more
1 ere fois que je commande le menu sushi 3 personnes à emporter. Les sushis présentent bien mais en vrai les Sushis sont fade, sans goût & sans faveur.View more
Looking for an authentic Japanese Sushi experience than here IT is. It's near the Airport & only 17-20 minutes from downtown Montreal. Relaxed atmosphere. Free parking. Katoreya is not only authentic but provides best Value & great selection & fish preparation styles ...equal to my Tokyo dining experience. Great Job chef & Katoreya Team.View more
Really enjoyed our dinner experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was calm & enjoyable. The staff was so sweet & delivered such great service. The sushi was so delicious (tried the special Sushi for two with an additional roll - the Besame) really good! Plus bring your own wine!View more
Cozy. Not a super high ceiling so sound doesn't bounce & echo everywhere so it's not noisy & we can hear each other easily. Food is excellent. Won Ton soup is really good. Sushi is very tasty, quality is excellent, many different choices & well presented. Very good tempura dishes. Excellent a la carte teriyaki dishes for those who don't likes sushi or fish. Have been dining at Katoreya many times over the last 8 years. Sometimes service slightly slow but it's still okay. Very nice waiters & waitresses. Added bonus. You can bring your own wine!View more
The only sushi restaurant I will go to. Fresh sushi. Delicious rolls. Great kitchen items. Skilled chefs. Very clean & spacious. The only question mark is the service which can be hit or miss. The waitress with the facial piercings is very sweet & good at her job. She really cares about the guests. The older lady who helps with takeout orders is also very nice. The male server & hostess are very rude & should not be working in hospitality although she has not been present the last few times we have goneView more
Excellent food, would highly recommend. 1st time at this restaurant & I definitely will return, even brought some Sushi home.View more
We came after the rush on Sunday evening. This is one of my favourite local places to go to, so I am immensely disappointed to write anything disappointing about this little 'resto". We all have bad days, & this probably was it. Upon arriving with my 22 year old daughter, the waiter seated us & placed 1 wine glass on the table. I guess he thought she was under age. He could have easily requested identification & we would have been happy to do so.
We ordered the sushi for 2, & it comes with a 'dragon eye' entree. It was cut so unevenly, placed in such a sloppy fashion that I had to wonder if this was the chef, or an assistant. The main plate had the usual 'chef's choice' of rolls, that were overly 'ricey' & not tightly packed. This was not consistent of what they usually serve. Our bill was $50 before tax, & it's a hard earned $50., not sure if we will return so quickly. :-(
DO NOT LET THE OTHER REVIEWS FOOL YOU. I was looking for a sushi restaurant that delivers & based on the reviews on this website, I opted to order from them. The food was delivered a little late but worst of all, the sushi was far from being anything but good. The fish was not fresh! I have eaten all types of sushi, from higher end to 'fast food' sushi & this has to be the worst sushi I have ever had in my entire life. Sorry Katoreya, but the most important ingredient in sushi is the fish!
We went to eat there on a saturday night with a group of 4 & the place was not that busy for a weekends so we were scared about the quality of the food at first. But than we ve founded out that the restaurant was only open since September of last year so that is kind of understandable. But once we stepped in front of the door SURPRISE SURPRISE we saw our old pals ANDY & HIP HOP. In a way We were SUPER HAPPY to see them back for such a long long time cause in my heart we knew that THEY will guarantie us QUALITY. & we were not disappointed. Everything there is so generous & delicious & we wanna keep eating & eating. Andy did recommanded us some of the house specialties that are not on the list & they are out of this world; starting with The tartares is kind of heaven & the sushi poutine is so cooly delicious. The Yin & Yang, the Golden gate & the Regalo are priceless. Their sashimis was so fresh & tasty which are node above most of others sushi restaurants. In all, we were enjoying our experience at Katoreya & without a doubt, it is our favourite sushi restaurant in the West-Island now. Hat off to new owners Hip Hop & Andy for bringing such a high quality to the West-Island. 5 Stars all the way.
