About

Kalbi BBQ specializes in authentic Korean tabletop grilling where diners sear marinated meats and fresh vegetables directly at their tables. The menu features classic bulgogi and short ribs alongside an expansive selection of freshly prepared sushi rolls and nigiri. Side dishes known as banchan accompany the grilled proteins, providing a diverse range of traditional fermented flavors and textures. The interior layout emphasizes social interaction through integrated grills, facilitating a highly interactive cooking process for groups. Professional staff provide necessary guidance on grilling techniques to ensure optimal flavor development for each cut of meat. This establishment combines the intensity of high-heat Korean barbecue with the precise artistry of Japanese raw fish preparations. Patrons find a comprehensive menu that bridges two distinct culinary traditions within a single, functional space designed for efficient and communal preparation.

Review Summary

Kalbi BBQ offers an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and sushi experience that is widely enjoyed for its fun atmosphere, lively music, and unique robot servers. Most guests appreciate the variety of fresh meats, marinades, and well-prepared sushi, noting that the service is often remarkably quick and the staff is friendly and accommodating. While many patrons find the meal to be a great value for the variety provided, some diners feel the price is high, particularly when noting additional charges for certain items like lettuce or desserts and the automatic gratuity policy. Experiences regarding comfort vary, with some mentioning the space can be noisy, warm, or occasionally chilly depending on seating, but the general consensus highlights the restaurant as a memorable spot for groups, celebrations, and casual outings.

Came in on a very hot Friday day night & were seated almost immediately. Ordering is done simply through your phone - generally I dislike scannable menus but this was actually very smart & intuitive.

The food also came out very quickly, & was delicious all-around. The robot expeditors were efficient, & staff members came to clean our empties frequently. Service was very nice too, with attentive & prompt staff. The miso beef was very good.

two AYCE dinners plus two cocktails ran about $145, which is standard for a place like this. Very excellent experience at Kalbi. The DJ was also playing great tracks.

Kalbi BBQ automatically adds a 15% gratuity for groups. We were told it was mandatory because we were six people.

Fair value, good quality BBQ, didnt try the rest. Ginger portion is tiny, soups are just ok. Selection could be better, but I assume its likely typical for Korean BBQ. I would come back.

It's a pretty large restaurant set upstairs in the Chinatown district. Only weird thing is you grill on parchment paper & keep replacing paper. They don't clear out grill. Taste is a little bit lowered by this.

We had the unlimited weekend menu
Bunch of sushi rolls & variety of deep fried appetizers & of course raw meats seafood veggies for grilling

4.0 stars is apt for this place. The food wasn't super high quality (what all you can eat place is?). But very solid fresh decent good quality. Some meat marinades were excellent, others so so. Sushi was also ok not super great. Standard quality not excellent or premium. Veggies for grill very good. Fish & seafood very good. Fried food not great. Skip that.

We had reservation for 24 . They gave us a almost private room. Service was very good generally. Table orders by QR codes sent to kitchen & brought out. While most items were included (no price listed). Some add ons like alcohol or other special sauces for example were extra with dollar amount at bottom.

Absolutely absurd. Tell me why they forced me to tip them? I didn't tip since the meal was already expensive as it is. the lady serving me pointed it out & I confirmed that i did not want to since tips are OPTIONAL. I work in a restaurant myself & from a server to another, it is very rude to point it out. Afterwards a man comes to me basically telling me that i HAD to tip in a very demanding tone. His excuse was that'this is not a McDonalds'. & basically bashed me for not tipping. In my 5 years of serving at restaurants i have never heard of such'rule'. & please pay respect to all workers, including fast food workers.Employees should know that it is not mandatory for customers to tip & should be more aware of how they speak to customers. Next time do not leave a'no tip' option if it is not optional. Will not come again with this ridiculous service. It is hideous.

We had a reservation a Sunday evening, but unexpectedly wasn't that crowded (especially after the Comicon). Atmosphere & waiters/waitresses were pretty nice & the cat robot is cute. Food was good, but a little pricy for what it is. (you have to EAT to make it worth) 44$ per person+ tx. Be warned, they add 15% tip before giving you options to pay. Also, drinks are absolutely overpriced.. Soju bottle at 9$ at SAQ are 27$ here, be careful 💀 the bill goes up insanely quick 🤯 Still a fun experience & will probably return all things considered
