I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kalapaw Filipino Cuisine in the West Island of Montreal, & I have to say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
I ordered the Chicken Adobo with rice, & it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich & authentic, with the perfect balance of savory, tangy, & slightly sweet - just how adobo should be. The chicken was tender & well-marinated, & the portion size was generous.
For dessert, I tried one of their Filipino sweets (I won't spoil it for you!), & it was simply amazing - the perfect way to end the meal. Sweet, comforting, & full of nostalgic flavor.
The service was another highlight: fast, professional, & very courteous. I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do.
The ambiance is warm, friendly, & relaxed. Whether you're new to Filipino cuisine or looking for a taste of home, Kalapaw provides a comfortable space to enjoy a great meal.
Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Filipino food in the West Island. I'll definitely be back!
Been here multiple times & have never been disappointed. If you're looking for a family friendly restaurant with authentic filipino dishes, look no further. The thirty minute drive is always worth it
I don't typically write negative reviews, especially since I had such a wonderful experience during my first visit, & being Ilocano, this place holds a special place in my heart. However, we did not receive the customer service that we expected. In fact, we had a bad service.
First off, upon arrival, we were not greeted with a smile or even offered a menu, thats something that should be standard. The first thing you expect when walking into a restaurant aside from water is a menu, yet we werent given one right away. Additionally, we arrived around 7pm, but were immediately informed that the restaurant was closing at 8pm. We understood their hours, but we weren't served until 7:30pm. The pressure to eat quickly made the dining experience bad, & we ended up opting for a takeout box for the leftovers we couldn't finish in that short amount of time. Lastly, I asked if we could be moved to a table at the back, which was empty. I was told that it was only for six people. It wasn't even busy & they were closing soon. As we expected, that table remained empty the entire time we were there.
Im only giving 1 star for the food & the portion. It still tasted delicious like the first time. Another 1 star for the cleanliness. But one thing I would suggest to the management is that they should improve their customer service. With such great food, I think the experience could be far better if the service matched.
Am I coming back? I am hesitant...
There has already been words circulating about this place, & finally I can say it deserves a visit. The ambiance is above expectations; the service is very good; the foods are prepared as you order them; the price at par with other restaurants; the location is very good. Be very careful when you have dietary restrictions, be sure to ask. I strongly recommend this place.
the foods were good po, but the service sobrang mehhh.. huhu naenjoy sana namin if not for the service. improve your manpower po it will help lalo na kung may events
The best place to eat & they serve good foods with the best quality of taste & the atmosphere was nice & relaxing not to much noise & we are so happy the way they served us.Kalapaw is a highly recommended for any person who likes Filipino Dishes.thumbs up for Kalapaw👍
Pour la première fois mais pas la dernière ! Les plats sont exquis mais pas chauds, belle présentation & les viandes sont bien marinées. Le service est timide mais ça va!
L'ambiance chaleureusement avec un décor moderne! Le parking est accessible & pas loin de l'autoroute! On a essayé un plat populaire & c'était humblement suffisant pour deux avec des variétés de viandes! On a adoré !

Some of the tastiest food I've ever had! There's very few times that you have a plate of food that gives you that kind of happiness on a plate. Absolutely delicious!
This eatery serves several unique, authentic platters, including the delicious & crispy lechon kawali, adobo chicken, & crispy pata. Regrettably, many traditional kamayan platters for two have been removed from the menu. We usually finished our meals with the dessert Halo-Halo. However, the service was slow & slacky. On our latest visit, a Sunday at 8:35 PM, the server refused to serve us the Halo-Halo, stating we were the last customers & they wanted to close.
Cuisine un peu décevante. Ayant déjà mangé de la cuisine des Philippine, je m'attendais à quelque chose de plus goûteux. Les calmars étaient corrects, sans plus puisque les morceaux étaient petits, donc beaucoup de friture. Les nouilles avec poulet ne goûtaient rien du tout & étaient grasses.
Le service était bien & le restaurant bien décoré.
Came here with my family for the first time. The interior was rather modern & clean. We were quickly sat & it didn't take long for our orders to be taken.
Our meals came out quickly. We shared the Lumpiang Shanghai, which each roll being delicious & crispy. We also shared the following meals: Adobo, Lechon Kawali, Sizzling Sisig & Palabok. For dessert, we had the Halo-Halo, the Calamansi Leche Flan & the Buko Pandan. It was my family's first time tasting this cuisine & everything was well-liked.
The service could have been more attentive. When we finished our water, our waitress took away the empty bottles but never came back with them. We had to remind her to bring us more water. However, this wasn't a big issue.
Overall, it was a lovely & great experience for a family dinner. Great culinary experience for my family as well. Would recommend!
Went on a Friday night, & the food was very good. Atmosphere was pleasant, will come again.
