About

Kahwa Café serves a selection of hand-crafted beverages alongside freshly prepared light fare. The menu centers on artisan bagels and pressed sandwiches featuring quality ingredients sourced to ensure consistency across every plate. Patrons find a functional space designed for efficient service and focused consumption rather than extended luxury lounging. The kitchen emphasizes traditional preparation methods for its dough-based offerings while maintaining a core focus on espresso-based drinks. Every sandwich benefits from toasted breads that provide a distinct crunch and structural integrity for the fillings provided. This establishment maintains a straightforward operational philosophy centered on providing reliable sustenance within a modern, minimalist environment. The result is a consistent experience that prioritizes the quality of individual items and the utility of the surroundings for every visitor entering the premises.

Review Summary

Kahwa Café has established a reputation as a premier destination for sandwiches in Montreal, largely due to their signature bread, which is freshly baked on-site for every order. Many patrons praise the flavorful ingredients and generous portions, with the panko chicken and kebab sandwiches frequently highlighted as standout menu items. While the vibrant atmosphere and friendly service contribute to the overall appeal, visitors should be prepared for potential wait times and limited indoor seating, especially during peak hours. Although experiences with the interior environment and wait times vary, the consensus remains that the quality of the food offers excellent value, making this a highly recommended spot for those seeking a satisfying, high-quality casual meal.

The poulet panko sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever had & i love sandwiches & eating them.

The atmosphere felt exactly like what you'd expect a neighbourhood sandwich joint to feel like.

I wish I lived in mtl just to eat here everyday

Probably the best sandwich I've ever had. It is so different from anything I've tried & it blew my expectations. It was so good that I got it multiple times in one day. Definitely recommend.

While in the Westmount Area of Montreal, stopped in for a take out lunch. Great selection of made to order Sandwiches paired with your choice of many salads. Quiche was great as well. There is seating available in the café. We opted for the park 2 blocks away. You certainly get what you pay for here ✨

Horrendous experience, poor customer service, cleaned the table of all the white people present but didn't clean the table of the only black person in the establishment. Disgusting. It is quite racist & clearly unacceptable. Never returning there & we'll never promote such place.

Kahwa is ok ... their sandwiches are tasty, but not exquisite. The only special thing about this café is how the bread is freshly baked in front of you. In Arabic,'kahwa' means coffee, so maybe that's their specialty, but coffee is not a drink you have with a sandwich, so I didn't try it. Plus, two thirds of the store space is dedicated to sandwiches, so it doesn't give you the impression that you must try their coffee. Either way, it's a good spot to try in Montréal, I just didn't understand the hype.
