I tried Qahwa yesterday, an Arabic-style sandwich spot with more of a street food vibe than a sit-down restaurant.
The place itself is pretty simple & not the cleanest, so don't expect anything fancy or polished. That said, the food is where it really stands out. They make their bread in-house, which makes a huge difference.
I ordered a chicken sandwich with merguez (& added extra merguez), & it was honestly delicious. The flavors were rich, well-seasoned, & very satisfying.
Overall, if you care more about taste than ambiance, it's definitely worth trying

Très bon pain. Ingrédients frais. Organisation top. Jai pris un sandwichs au thon Tunisien & Sandwich italien... ils étaient trop bons. Je suis revenu aujourd'hui & j'ai pris un poulet panko & un merguez. Zéro faute ! Je dirais from the best sandwichs in Montréal !

Tout simplement incroyable 🤤 sandwich poulet Panko croustillant sans avoir l'arrière-goût désagréable de friture. Toutes les garnitures le rend juteux & savoureux à point. Le sandwich à la merguez a un parfait mélange d'épices & de saveur. Quelle belle découverte 😍
Le pain des sandwich est d'une qualité supérieur. Par contre, la viande est fade, les merguez trop cuite & le poulet manque d'assaisonnement. Il y a une effervescence liée aux réseaux sociaux qui n'est pas justifiée.
Excellent ! Les sandwich au merguez est délicieux, pain cuit sur place, les prix & le temps d'attente raisonnables l'intérieur est sombre & petit mais c'est une très bonne découverte.
Ce sont parmi les meilleurs sandwichs sur l'Avenue! Le pain est moelleux à souhait puisqu'il est toujours fraîchement fait avant votre arrivée. Gros coup de coeur pour la sandwich merguez. C'est tout simplement délectable! Longue vie à Kahwa Café!
If you love sandwiches &/or north African food, this place is definitely for you. Amazing sandwiches with fresh bread straight out of the oven (literally baked in front of you) & delicious ingredients, tried the chicken & the merguez, & I have to say the merguez one was one of the best sandwiches I had in a longue time! Also the staff is very helpful & the place very cozy.
Un de mes lieux préférés à Montréal avec les sandwichs les plus réconfortants du monde en plus d'être généreux ! Si vous traversez difficilement la dépression hivernale, manger un Kebab libre est le meilleur substitut au lorazepam
Le service est vraiment efficace & adorable, mention spéciale pour la serveuse qui s'appelle Lea qui m'a conseillé également le sandwich merguez avec supplément harissa & feta : un banger merci!

Le pain du sandwich est fait maison & préparé sous les yeux des clients. Le sandwich est croustillant, bien garni & très bon ! L'aménagement de la salle pourrait être amélioré, car les tables sont trop serrées. Mais j'ai adoré le sandwich au poulet & à la merguez !
Pain cuit à la demande extraordinaire, croustillant à l'extérieur & moelleux en dedans, tout en étant léger.
Frites parfaites, servies avec mayo harissa délicieuse.
Sandwich au poulet panko très bon, mais manque de garnitures & de sauce. Mon conjoint a préféré celui aux merguez, que je trouve pour ma part trop intenses en cumin au lieu d'être épicées / piquantes.
Toilette douteuse, porte qui laisse une grande ouverture par laquelle on peut voir, même une fois fermée, & système de verrou douteux. Rouleau de papier de toilette déposé sur le comptoir, détrempé.
Salle à manger: tables sales, chaises bancales, très à l'étroit. Un peu de soin ferait grand bien.
Merguez sandwich was ok , wayyyyyy too much harissa mayo for my taste . I kept biting into these globules of mayo throughout the sandwich i couldn't keep eating it . Was like a mayo sandwich. Service is ok but very uncomfortable seating . Crappy dirty tables & chairs , very cramped. Drinks in fridge aren't cold enough. Check your fridge compressor. Cutting board on the left near oven is completely black & very dirty. I would urge you guys to get a new one, or clean it very well, especially in an open kitchen set up. Bathroom was completely clogged . To me the only highlight is they make their own bread
