lobster(115) spaghetti(76) steak(74) sauce(60) wine(56) recommend(52) dessert(47) dishes(38) attentive(36)The service is excellent & the staff is really friendly. The appetizers (shrimp cocktail & raw scallops) were decent, but underwhelming. The mains were generous in portion (lobster spaghetti & the whole cornish hen), but they were very salty (I like salt, so it wasn't a problem for me, but my date went through about 5 cups of water during the mains). The peas & morels were so sparce in the dish that I wouldn't really include them in the description on the menu. There weren't many choices for side vegetables either (I think carrots was the only option). The star of the show was the bread rolls with salt & butter. My 250$ bill was worth it for the bread! The restaurant is good, really good, so I'm not trying to say it wasn't. It just didn't meet my expectations for what has become a staple of the Montreal culinary scene.View more
Bonne bouffe, repas réconfortant, bonne quantité dans les assiettes. Service au dessus de la moyenne, attentionné. Prix un peu trop élevé mais ca va avec leur réputation international.View more

We had a lovely experience at Joe Beef for a party of 4. We were recommended to order 4 appetizers, 4 mains & 1-2 side dishes, which might have been a bit overkill, but we enjoyed every bit. One less main would have been the perfect amount. We had the snails, paté en croute, Époisses tart & the daily special (their twist on ham & cheese sandwich). The snails & paté en croute were delicious. The daily special was on the smaller side & the cheese overpowered most of the dish. For mains, we had the daily fish, which was good but not at the same level as other dishes. The chicken, sweetbreads & lobster pasta were all amazing - I understand why the lobster spaghetti has been on their menu for the past 19 years! The wine was great too!View more
Amazing food & service! I loved the tuna steak appetizer!View more

Disappointed considering the price point & hype. Not worth the $$.View more
I don't understand the ratings given. I tried the Pâté en croûte, Lobster, Rabbit, Old Pork. The overall experience ranged from really not good to average. Additionally, the prices are excessively high, especially considering the quality. Only good point: the service was excellentView more
Absolument fantastique. Huîtres, pétoncles & crevettes cocktail en entrée. Pâtes homard, dorade de doré partagés. Vraiment agréable, personnel super sympa & tout trop bon. On y retourne.View more
Really good restaurant, try to have Gabriel as the waiter! & try the lobster spaghetti!View more
Felt the food did not live up to the expectation & price point. Staff were nice & atmosphere was great. Would recommend going somewhere else though if you're looking for a great meal.View more

The best restaurant in Canada? Maybe the world? Can't say enough good things about this place. Service, vibe & food were all top notch. Everything I want in a meal. If they have the bone marrow & oysters get them.View more
Joe Beef is well known in Montreal & abroad, for good reason. The food is delicious & unpretentious, & the service is top-notch. Had a great meal & would happily go backView more
Love your "Joe Beef piquant apple maple" BUT unfortunately none is being sent this year to the Vancouver BC area!!View more
A fantastic experience: food & service were some of the best we had in Montréal.View more
4.5⭐️ because the food was salty. FOOD: creative, very delicious, but salty. • Bone Marrow Custart: so cream, the bone marrow is mixed with egg & cream & turned into something like a savory pudding. The creamy tomato sauce & croutons balance out the rich flavor. 100/10 • Duck platter: I love how they have all the heart, liver & kidney. The meat was tender, gravy is super tasty, if it was less salty I'd really love this restaurant. SERVICE: Amazing, as soon as my plate is cleared out, 2 seconds later another waiter saw it & bring me new plates & cutlery. The place is extremely busy til midnight. Although I had reservation I still have to wait about 30 minutes. They're super busy but they managed to do the service really really well. VIBE: very small place, it's impossible to walk in without reservation. It's an old house with some weird decorations, I got scared with the giant bull head in the washroom.View more
