Service is always pleasant. However I have been a loyal customer for many years & regrettably the quality of the fish has declined. I don't think I would go back. The owner is an OG, but sadly the restaurant is no longer a competitor for great sushi/sashimi in Montreal.View more
Décidément, après le désastre complet chez Iru Izakaya (voir critique), je ne suis pas chanceux avec les restaurants japonais.
J'y suis allé un midi, attiré par la longévité de la business, 50 ans en affaires pour un restaurant, c'est plutôt exceptionnel.
Malheureusement, ce s'est avéré cher pour rien. $30 avec taxes & services pour un poké bol bien en deçà des compétiteurs. Ça donne l'impression qu'ils l'ont créé parce que c'est devenu à la mode.
Les ingrédients sont très ordinaires, la marinade du poisson sans intérêt & la laitue prend bien trop de place.
Peut-être pour autre chose car on est pas 50 ans en affaires sans faire quelque chose de bien, mais si j'avais une recommandation à leur faire, enlevez le poké bol du menu: pas bon & trop cher.
A éviter.

Délicieuse cuisine japonaise. Les tempuras sont wow! Les'happy combo' permettent de goûter à plein de plats, le'Bento box' du jour, à presque tout! Nous avons beaucoup aimé, Arigato!View more
My cousin introduced me to this gem years ago; therefore not my first time here; Noriko Ishii-san is extremely meticulous in her food crafting & is incredibly friendly. She wants to know about people, their love for Japan, & ultimately serve them great food. For a culture rich experience, & good food, this is the best place in town.View more

Loved every single thing I ate there from the tasty miso soup to the incredible sushis. You can feel the thoughtfulness & quality in every single dish. The portion sizing was perfect for me. I took the combo of sushi makis & I found that the price was very reasonable for what I was getting which was quality & tasty food that didn't leave you feeling heavy or lethargic afterwards. Waiting time for our food didn't take long & as one dish was done, the other dish was coming in so I'd say the service was super smooth & it definitely helped with the overall pleasant restaurant experience. I'd definitely come back here, super happy to have found this gem of a place!View more

This place has been open for 50 years - there's a photo wall as you walk in with photos - & it makes sense why when you taste the food. The tempura batter is nice, the green tea was brewed correctly, & the staff was attentive with checking up & refilling drinks. Not a lot of frills here, just good food. I think a sign of a good place is regulars, & when I was there two regulars showed up. One has his seat by the window & the other had a pickup order, & the owners came out & greeted both sets of people.View more
The interior of this restaurant has a retro Japan feel with decor & music to bring that ambiance. The service was friendly & efficient. There are vegetarian sushi & Bento options. The Bento boxes were presented beautifully & there were some uncommon items like lettuce leaf in my sushi roll & cucumber & potato tempura. The veg Bento was about $30, which was quite a higher price for the quality of the food, but in this case I guess the price is to reflect the experience of the atmosphere.
