Amazing breakfast! I had the Latkes & my friend had the avocado toast. Both were delicious! Our waitress Anis was kind & thoughtful. Highly recommend. Ps get there early, there is a lineup & we know why!
The'latkes' were excellent - perfectly crispy on the outside, & as you keep eating, the subtle sweetness of the yellow beets comes through beautifully with the potatoes. The toppings were very well balanced: crunchy pickled onions, a softly cooked egg, & a small slice of tender smoked salmon. Great texture, lots of layers, & very satisfying without feeling heavy.
L'Oeuf Écossais was beautifully done. The soft-boiled egg was cooked perfectly, with a rich, creamy yolk. The outer layer was crispy but not greasy, with a very satisfying, substantial bite. Great contrast of textures & a simple dish executed really well.
Hands down the best brunch i've ever had in MTL. Not cheap but worth it - the beverages are fantastic, & the oeuf & boeuf is simply phenomenal. The latkes & pulled ham are also wonderful. Glad to have such a high quality establishment on Wellington.
Food is good but not wow. Service was nice & quick. French toast tasted more like banana bread. Good but was surprised by this mushy texture. Herbs & pickles that came with the latkes were really good & balanced out the saltiness of the salmon & latkes. Come early to avoid queues.
the food was very flavourful & very light.Service was decent & the atmosphere was very calm & relaxing. also, the smoke salmon & the veggies in the latkes
were very fresh .Overall a very good experience.
My partner & I have been here twice & absolutely loved it! The flavors were incredible, everything we tried was delicious & full of unique taste. We especially loved the Champi & the Latkes. Can't wait to come back again & again!
Cute place, high hopes when I walked in.
I tried the latkes, oeuf & boeuf, scotch egg & grilled cheese. Latkes were decent, light & tasty. Scotch egg was decent too, egg center perfect. But the oeuf & boeuf was heavy, lots of bread & not too much flavor. The grilled cheese was a heavy soupy mess. Just a huge portion of unappealing food. Coffee wasn't great either, but it smelled great. Just disappointed & now my stomach hurts honestly.
AN ACTUAL GEM! We were handed hot tea while waiting in line & then a complimentary wellness shot once seated down. Amazing service & ambiance & the food was amazing. We got the Croque Monsieur & the Latkes. Deliciousn
I debated writing this review because I want to gatekeep this place - but Janine Cafe-Brunch deserves the recognition.
Gluten free latkes were exceptional & one of the best mimosa's I've had at a restaurant! The drip coffee left a bit to be desired but otherwise I had a wonderful experience.
Delicious brunch food & large portions. The apple french toast was delicious & not too sweet at all, & quite a large portion of two thick slices of toast & a cooked apple; good to share between two people. The latkes were very good & savoury. I would recommend the latkes & the carrot cake! The latte with soy milk was also delicious. The line is very long so be prepared to wait! Overall a really beautiful place with friendly staff & yummy food :)

The turmeric latte was really good. I had a plate called latkes, & I really like it. It was light & delicious. My friend had champi, it was good she said. But the courgette bread was not so good. The place is great but the wait could be stressful
Based on all the hype over this spot, I expected better food. I had the croque madame which I found to be under seasoned. I also tried the latkes that my friend ordered. They were good, but not worth the wait in line. Neither of us finished our plates. The carrot cake was delicious though, it's possible we ordered the wrong things - maybe their other dishes are better made than what we tried.
One of the best places to have brunch on Rue Wellington. Amazing decor, beyond excellent service & great food. We highly recommend the latkes, dorè d'ètè, & coffees,
