Across reviews for J'ai Feng, the noodles are praised for authentic Sichuan flavor and the ginger onion and ginger scallion bowls are repeatedly highlighted as tasty and satisfying. Yet portions and prices receive mixed feedback, with some writers calling the cost too high for what is offered and others noting strong value for a neighborhood noodle spot. The setup is described as takeout oriented at least for some visits, with fast service and multilingual staff mentioned, while others note differences between dine in expectations and the takeout reality. Several reviewers report unexpected charges for extras such as an egg or beverages, adding to concerns about overall value. Despite these concerns, many still recommend trying the noodles for quality and flavor, and some praise the spicy oil and overall quick meals, while at least a few feel the dishes could use more protein options or resemble homemade fare.
Très bon mais beaucoup trop cher pour la portion...Une soupe aux tomates fermentées avec un petit peu de porc haché pour 27$ avec le pourboire... Je n'y retournerai pas c'est certain...

Amazing authentic Sichaun noodles. Service available in Mandarin, French, & English. If you want noodles with some authentic Sichuan zing, this the spot. Priced appropriately as well!
This is not authentic Chinese-style rice noodles at all. The menu is extremely limited-only a few options written on a blackboard, & no meat included in any dish. The soup has no depth or distinctive flavor whatsoever. It honestly feels like chewing plain boiled rice noodles with ingredients you can merely see, no taste.
The service is chaotic. The female server was unable to manage customers in order & appeared distracted & disengaged while serving people who were waiting in line.
The price is also unreasonably high-over $20 per bowl on average, with only two flavors available. Even instant rice noodles I buy from Asian grocery stores taste far better than this dine-in experience.
I strongly advise anyone considering this place based on its rating: don't be misled by the review rates !
The popup is the reason why I am here. Food was solid 5 stars.
randomly picked a 330ml soda from their fridge & got charged $5.75. It's one of those fancy sodas that go for like $10 a pack.
For a neighborhood noodle spot, that was pretty surprising & kind of ironic. But yeah no one's paying for that again.
If you know how to cook even a little bit, I do not recommend getting your food here. The only redeeming quality is the affordable price & how fast it was made. This is strictly a takeout restaurant (no place to eat, not even a bench) which I did not know before driving here ; all of the online photos I saw of the food were the interior restaurant. The food was too salty & the only trash can available is a nasty trash bin in the alley so that was a memorable experience.

really really yummy & convenient!
Staff are quick & nice. I had the ginger scallion noodles for $8 & loved it. I only wish we had the option to add protein (tofu)
I guess they switched to take out only recently? Only 3 options for noodles. All of them disappointingly like something you would throw together at home at 3 in the morning. No protein options. Just fat & carb.

Tasty dish. I always dine in (get there early or get lucky for a seat) if not i recommend take out. Short menu but well executed. A place to go back again & again.
