Food was alright, the flavor was there. I had the lamb skewers but compared to the one in Chinatown, this one feels like it's missing something.
I also got the rice poke with cod, they added too much water when they cooked the rice, the texture was getting to congee territory.
The place didn't use their heater so everyone was on their winter coat.
The system to order is not as seemless, you need to scan a qr code, download the app, & register an account.
Lastly, when we go to pay, I didn't realize but they charge a service fee & after, the screen shows the option to tip.

Edit: After reading the store's response, I want to clarify that it does not accurately reflect our in-store experience. When placing my order, I pointed directly to the poster showing the larger Tanghulu skewers & even tried to request two specific fruits. I was told that individual selections were not allowed because it was'chef's choice,' & that they could only be purchased as a set of three. At no point was this explained as a'blind box' or that it would involve significantly smaller portions. We were not offered any alternative options beyond the three-piece portion we received. This was not a case of us ordering the wrong item & receiving something different.
Additionally, the sugar coating on the fruit did not taste fresh, despite their explanation. I ended up throwing it out entirely, which was a waste of my money because it was simply not enjoyable. I've had traditional Tanghulu at other places & am familiar with how it should taste.
It's disappointing that their responses consistently shift blame onto customers instead of taking accountability or attempting to make things right.

Really disappointed with the quality of what we received. The tanghulu looked nothing like the photos shown on their Google page or the in-store poster. Instead of long skewers with several pieces of fruit, we were given a very small portion. Paying $10.99 for this felt like a complete rip-off.
On top of that, everything was wrapped in plastic. While I assume it was meant to protect the food, the plastic wouldn't peel off properly & kept breaking into small pieces. We had to remove it bit by bit, which took far too long & was frustrating.
When we finally tasted it, the sugar coating was super burnt & didn't taste fresh at all. Definitely not worth the price.
