Il Cortile offre une expérience italienne authentique, avec une cour intérieure magnifiquement décorée qui transporte en Italie. Le service est chaleureux et attentif, prêt à s'adapter aux demandes et à rendre les moments spéciaux inoubliables. La cuisine est excellente et généreuse, avec des pâtes fraîches savoureuses, des gnocchi fondants et des sauces riches qui séduisent autant lors d'un dîner romantique qu'en repas entre amis. L'ambiance est charmante et conviviale, que ce soit en terrasse ou dans ce cadre intime, et chaque visite paraît mémorable. Même lorsque le restaurant est très occupé, le personnel reste professionnel et attentif, et les desserts comme le tiramisu ou la gelato viennent couronner l'expérience.
Everything was great: food, service( had a great waiter), the courtyard. However, how can such a lovely restaurant, downtown, have less than a 3-star bathroom? Some of the decor feels a little tired, but a visit to the restroom made me feel a bit.... Icky.
My friends & I were able to visit for dinner & it was easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. Our server James was amazing & made time for us even while busy & went above & beyond to make our evening memorable. The food was delicious, every single dish was loved by everyone at the table. The courtyard is beautiful & makes the whole experience even better. Would highly recommend this place & we are looking forward to visiting again on our next trip!

Honestly , I have wanted to try this place for a while for its outdoor courtyard dining. As you enter the building & arrive at the Helm , no one is there to greet you . It could use a bit more charm . The courtyard is super cute & you expect that you are about to discover a hidden gem & most importantly eat an unforgettable meal . Before I begin , I want to mention that the service was exceptional. A lot of attention was given to our particular changes & requests in our order & this is something I greatly appreciate . Now the food was just ok . That part definitely needs to be worked on . It doesn't take much more to design flavors up a couple of notches. & please , if you talk about having fresh pasta , use more semolina . The pasta was not flavorful nor great quality . As for the sauces , definitely missing some Italian love , especially at the price point you're charging for those dishes . My daughter who adores lamb , would not eat her dish . You are in a great location & have the potential to do more . Glad I tried it but won't be returning . The thing that made me happy was being with my children on my birthday & their generosity.
Very charming place with a hidden courtyard in the heart of the city. The food was authentic Italian & was so good my father in law (a very picky eater) asked for another plate - which he inhaled!
Pricey at first glance, but then you realize your plate comes with an appetizer & the portions are very generous (Italian style!)
The food was solid. But I left the meal after 3 hours & they werent done. It was troublingly hot in the courtyard (not their fault). But after fanning yourself with a menu & multiple requests for more water, you just lose your appetite. I think a party > 6 may be too big for them.
Great atmosphere, was seated in the outdoor courtyard. The vibe was very pleasant.
The food was amazing, we went for F1 weekend, & the menu was very nicely put together. All of the entrees we tried was delicious, as well as the pasta, gnocchi, & desserts were amazing.
Hicham took good care of us, Dino & the other staff were excellent as well!
I just had a lovely lunch with my daughter for Fathers day. The courtyard was stunning, the service & food were excellent, a wedding celebration added to the joyful vibe of the sunny afternoon.
Highly recommend, will be celebrating here again.

Very underwhelming food experience. For the price of the dishes the taste was not really there. I ordered the seafood linguine with a white wine sauce, although the pasta was cooked perfectly the sauce was watery & the dish itself lacked flavour.
Where they lacked in flavour, they gain in service. All waiters/waitresses were attentive & making sure everything was ok for our large group.
I have heard a huge plus for this restaurant was for the courtyard, however the night we went it was pouring rain. The staff was very kind & offered outdoor seating as they did have heaters, however we opted to still sit indoors.
We recently had a bridal shower for my daughter at Il Cortile &, while the weather did not cooperate for us to use the lovely courtyard, Dino & his staff were extremely accommodating & kind & a real pleasure to deal with! The service & food were excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant which has been around for many years.
Absolutely stunning, European like courtyard to enjoy your meal in. The food was very delicious, fresh & authentic. The service however wasn't the most precise. But none the less we felt the place was great & would go back. We were there for a wedding this past weekend!

We had a group reservation for a birthday dinner in their courtyard & everything about the evening was amazing! Our waiter, I believe his name was Mansour, was very friendly & professional ! The drinks were great & the fixed menu was worth the price & offered a lot of different meals throughout the evening The terasse is beautiful & really is the highlight of the restaurant, definitely recommend eating outside while we still can! Thank you for a great evening!
Unique offering matched by very few in the city. The'courtyard' setting provides the euro vibe. A must for any summer or warm autumn date night. Classic Italian dishes prepared with personalized touch. All dishes fresh & savory. Grazie mille.
This is a lovely urban courtyard restaurant hidden away in the heart of downtown Montreal. The unique setting & the pleasant service by the amiable young staff compensate for the quality of the food at this establishment. If you enjoy North American-Italian cuisine then you won't be disappointed by the heavy cream sauces, faux parmesan, very salty good or overcooked meats. Montreal has so much to offer when it comes to authentic Italian food but Il Cortile isn't one of the places. This would be a perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks or cocktail on a sunny afternoon.
Outdoor courtyard was absolutely charming & beautiful. Sadly the food was bland & underwhelming. Service started off great but then it took forever to get our main courses, I wanted a second drink & had to flag down a waiter to be able to order it.
Dino, the owner/manager of Il Cortile was so wonderful & made my husbands birthday party celebration with our friends & family very special. The food was delicious from the appetizers, to main course to the dessert. An extensive wine list to choose from & a lovely atmosphere. Our server (Jasmine) was so professional, kind, polite & attentive without hovering. I highly recommend Il Cortile for a lovely lunch or dinner or celebration, without hesitation. If the weather cooperates then ask for a table in the courtyard surrounded by beautiful flowers & dine al fresco. We look forward to many more meals at this Italian restaurant. Bravi Tutti!!!!!!!
Il Cortile is a beautiful gem in Montreal for any occasion. I had the pleasure of attending my bridal shower at Il Cortile & cannot be more grateful for the outstanding service & support from their staff & manager. All guests were raving about how amazing the food was, how beautiful their courtyard is & how attentive, respectful & professional their staff was. Thank you Il Cortile & Dino! It was amazing.
I came here in the winter time to experience the indoor part of the restaurant for my birthday. The food was absolutely amazing & the service was excellent as well. I look forward to trying out the summer months as there's a beautiful ambient courtyard to eat in. Cozy indoor classic italien feel.
