Review Summary

Ici Restaurant Coréen comes across as a small, cozy mom-and-pop spot where food is made with care and guests are greeted by friendly, attentive owners. Dishes such as bulgogi, tteokbokki, bibimbap, and a variety of kimbap and yubuchobap are highlighted for fresh, flavorful, made-to-order quality, and many reviews say the flavors recall memories of Korea while still feeling accessible in Montreal. The ambiance is warm and intimate, though seating is limited to a couple of tables and no bathroom is consistently available according to some visits, making it feel perfect for takeout. Service is repeatedly praised for its warmth and helpfulness, with small touches like doors being opened when hands are full and a friendly, welcoming tone. A few criticisms surface, including a Korean fried chicken that some feel falls short and a tuna kimbap that is dry, while one review questions the overall rating seen on delivery apps. Overall, Ici Restaurant Coréen is seen as a hidden gem for comforting Korean fare with a mix of traditional flavors and modern twists, especially popular for kimbap, tteokbokki, and other small dishes.

As a son of former small business owners, I can recognize a mom & pop shop from a mile away, & this is one such place. It was clear to me that the spicy pork dosirak was made with care & keen attention to taste. I felt as if I had been transported back to the boonsik diners I miss so dearly back in Korea. I always feel like Korean food in Montreal is just, far too inadequate in taste compared to Toronto or Vancouver, but this place gives me hope that we are finally getting Korean food right in this city.

Cute little shop owned by mom & pop. If I was still a university student, I would come here to lunch at least once a week ! The tofu wrapped rice was delicious & you can choose up to 4 toppings ! Next time I come here, I'll have to try the tteokbokki & ramen.

Entering here immediately transported us to Korea, like we just entered a typical small shop. Gimbap looks similar to sushi rolls but is an entirely different flavor, many cooked meats like beef available. We added the Bong Bong combo to one order & it came with delicious chicken & nice fruit like fresh cherries & blackberries. There was Korean pop music playing & the decor is fun, including a tiny library. You can also buy dried ramen packs flavors here that are hard to find like kimchi. Only 4 to 6 people total can sit, which adds to the overall experience of a genuine simple Korean shop. The host is very kind & makes you feel at home. You pay when you order from the big computer touchscreen, so no waiting for the bill at the end.
