Review Summary

Overall, Hurley's Irish Pub comes across as a Montreal institution, offering a welcoming two floor layout with cozy corners, live music, and a festive Celtic atmosphere that works for pre game buzz or a relaxed night out. Reviewers praise a tremendous beer selection and an impressive whiskey list, along with solid pub fare and standout dishes like beef stew or a hearty fish and chips, though some meals have been noted as inconsistent and portions as smaller since Covid. Staff receive frequent compliments for friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to a warm, engaging vibe across multiple visits. Two levels, a downstairs intimate space and an upstairs area with music, plus a terrace, are highlighted as great features that add to the original charm, though crowds can push seating and service during peak times. While prices can be on the higher side and a few menu items have been cut back, the overall sentiment is that this pub delivers a top notch experience for beer lovers, sports crowds, and fans of live Irish music. Many say they will return, making this a go to spot in Montreal for those seeking good drinks, lively entertainment, and a friendly crowd.

We waited a bit on the first floor for someone to notice us, & since it was not happening decided to head upstairs… We did not regret it : the service by Akira at the bar was lovely, nachos & beer was exactly what we needed, & the live music made the experience go from a nice to an awesome time. Nous y reviendrons! 🍻

Normally, it takes a while for someone to take your order, but the beers are really good.

You need to be patient

They didn't have around six different beers offered in the menu. & 1 out of 3 tequilas in the menu. Plus. I was expecting that they had at least 1 Mexican beer. Ha. Just kidding. The seas may get a refurnished. As they are OLD. But it was ok in general.

Très bel endroit, un peu cher mais pour l'ambiance ça va. Le service n'est pas toujours en français, mais ils sont très sympathiques. La musique en live est très agréable. La nourriture & les boissons sont bonnes.

I was there during the Canada vs Sweden game, so unusually busy, however the staff compensated & still provided excellent service in a timely manner.

Hurley's Irish Pub is a cozy spot with great drinks & charming little corners. We picked a perfect spot to sit, but unfortunately, a few inconsiderate sports fans briefly disrupted the experience-not the pub's fault, of course. Once they left, we fully enjoyed the warm atmosphere. The food & drinks were excellent, making it a great place for a romantic date or a casual get-together with friends.

Our server was really friendly & the vibes were nice! Can become quite loud inside as any place with alcohol is. Definitely would visit again! & btw I don't think you have to wait until being seated she just told us to sit anywhere we wanted :)

Hurley's Irish Pub has long been a Montreal favorite, & my recent visit reminded me why. Catching up with an old friend over a couple of pints, I was reminded of the pub's enduring charm.

Stepping into Hurley's is like stepping into a traditional Irish pub. The decor is warm & inviting, with plenty of dark wood & cozy nooks. The staff are friendly & welcoming, making you feel right at home.

While Hurley's offers a menu of traditional pub fare, we were there for the Guinness. & Hurley's certainly delivers on that front. The Guinness was perfectly poured & tasted just as it should.
But Hurley's is more than just a place to get a good pint. It's also a great place to catch up with friends, relax after work, or enjoy some live music. The atmosphere is always lively & convivial, making it a great spot for a night out.

If you're looking for an authentic Irish pub experience in Montreal, Hurley's is definitely worth a visit. Just be warned, it can get busy, especially on weekends. But that's just a testament to its popularity.
