About

Hurley's Irish Pub delivers an authentic atmosphere defined by traditional woodwork and a robust selection of imported stouts. The menu centers on classic pub fare, featuring signature beer-battered fish and chips served with house-made tartar sauce and thick-cut fries. Hearty portions of shepherd's pie highlight the commitment to consistent comfort food staples that satisfy guests seeking substantial plates. The environment incorporates communal seating and low-level lighting to maintain a standard pub aesthetic throughout the space. Patrons engage with a focused menu that prioritizes flavor and preparation over culinary complexity. This establishment functions as a primary hub for those desiring a straightforward dining experience centered on long-standing Irish recipes and cold beverages. Every component of the culinary output maintains the expected profile of a dedicated pub focused on traditional regional staples.

Review Summary

Hurley's Irish Pub is widely considered a staple of downtown Montreal, celebrated for its authentic atmosphere, live musical performances, and an impressive selection of Irish beers on tap, including perfectly poured Guinness. The establishment features a variety of unique seating areas, ranging from cozy nooks to a pleasant back courtyard, making it suitable for both lively gatherings and quiet conversations. While most guests praise the friendly and professional service, experiences with staff can be inconsistent during peak hours. Opinions regarding the food are mixed, with some patrons enjoying quality pub staples like fish and chips and wings, while others find the menu limited or the pricing high for the portion sizes. Despite occasional crowds and noise levels, the venue remains a beloved local institution where many return for the festive energy and consistent hospitality.

Great atmosphere, very good food & beer, the waitress was not impressive, no water or check up at the table, & it was very quiet at lunch time on a Wednesday, so it was not that she was overly busy!

I went there twice before concerts, good spot for sure, but compared to the others bars & restaurants nearby, it's pricey for sure, when you pay over $60 for 2 beers & 2 appetizers.. I didn't experience the live music, this review is just about the pricing, everything else is great!

A tall blonde waitress/bartender at the bar tonight (Friday, April 24) had a very rude attitude from the beginning. She was pushing people just to get through.

While people were dancing, she pushed two people at the same time, & it was so hard that one of them fell into me. I also fell to the ground & hit my head badly against a chair.

She didn't even come to apologize or check if I was okay. Her behavior was extremely disrespectful & unprofessional.

I've been to this place a few times before & I always found the atmosphere & staff polite & professional, but this employee is absolutely not suitable for working in such a small & crowded place.

I strongly recommend that if you see her, do not take service from her.

Not a place that you want to go especially after Pandemic. Cresent street becoming unsafe environment. Beware of the neibourhood.

Good atmosphere, cool that they had a free comedy show. The fries were overcooked & my water was never refilled once even after the ice was eaten lol
