Sushi 🍣 was very good. Service was a little slow though.
I decided to try this place because I wanted sushi really badly. I did not realise it was all you can eat until we sat, as I prefer à la carte (quality over quantity). Anyway, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the salmon tartare specialty sushi. We were astonished and confused when a mac&cheese-like sushi was brought. There was no salmon or any ingredients that was written on the menu. I told the waiter whom responded that all of the ingredients were typos... WELL we weren't informed at the beginning... There was no apology, the waiter simply took the plate away. In addition, he did not offer anything in return. The rest of our order was alright and didn't taste fresh. The service was rude.
Excellent everything. From sushi & stir fry & wok. Fast service & generous portions. You never know when to stop. Lunchtime in particular is a steal. What I would reccomend :Don't overdo it. They don't like when you order more that you can eat & they are right. Many many delicious well cooked choices.
The staff is amazing, super friendly, super polite. We love the food, it's fresh and the hot meals are great. It's a great place for families, we come here often and it's great for a date.
Definitely recommend this place, prices are good, and the ambiance is inviting.
three and a half stars is way under. my wife has a very sensitive tummy. we say that when we hasu we won't have any surprises. the food is good quality and first rate. we tried sushi for the first time, delish. service, best anywhere. Food was and still is hot, fast, and delicious. Tom is number one.
we've seen restaurants come and go, yet we always go back to hasu. the food is
thank you, big Tom and the crew.
Hasu sushi used to be one of my favorite all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in West Island. Although the kitchen dishes are not impressive at all since the beginning (shrimp brochettes are always cold), but the quality of the sushi is definitely comparable with other a la carte restaurant, the service was pleasant, and the price is reasonable. Unfortunately, ever since my recent visit in Hasu, the poor quality of the food just blow my mind!
The kitchen dishes are still poor but the sushi quality drop dramatically. The proportion of the sushi rice is huge and the fishes are not fresh. The maki are not rolling properly, because the food inside of my maki are falling apart. The worst is the spicy mayo, it was way too sour (yes, sour!) The most interesting part of my recent visit is when I was struggling with the change of the food quality, I heard the chefs were fighting loudly behind the bar. Although I dont understand their language, but I believe they shouldnt put on a scene in front of the customers. I dont even want to go in detail about the bugs that fly around the soya sauce on the table next to me.
Unfortunately, I will have a hard time to convince myself to go back again. I hope this post can help them realize the down side and with improvement, I wish they can make it back up.
Lunched (14$ + tax/tip) on their all-you-can-eat menu several times now and once for dinner (25$ + tax/tip on Fri night).
When in the mood for all-you-can-eat (variety of food in small plate sizes), and not everyone you are dining with wants sushi, then it's worth while going. I enjoy the variety of food that they offer. The salmon sashimi, shrimp tempura, and the fried chicken wings are some of my favs. The sushis are fine. My friends have tried many of their cooked foods, and they were ok too. This establishment is not fine dining, but for an after-all an all-you-can-eat location, I will go back.
This building previously housed a Pizza Hut for many years, then a Chinese restaurant called FuLam XP for about a year and now Hasu Wok.
Quality of food was excellent, everything from the sushi to traditional Chinese dishes. Salmon sashimi...yummm!
This is an all you can eat place but not buffet style. You order from a menu and it's brought to your table.
Delivery of food was VERY slow. Maybe it's done on purpose because it's all you can eat but the wait was frustrating compared to the similar concept Sushi St-Jean (which I'll review seperately).
Been there twice this year (2014). Not sure if I'll be back, there are better alternatives.
Very impressed with the food. Especially the wok. Service is a little slow and lacking but I would go back just cause the food is so good!
I'm surprised with previous negative review. This is relatively small place. It doesn't have Kanda's selection, but everything is prepared very well, everything is fresh. Service is very good. Have been twice and will definitely be back and will recommend this place. Taking into account quality of food, all-you-can-eat concept and price I'm giving it 5 stars. Way better then Kanda or "St-Jean sushi". So far the best All-You-can-eat on West Island.
After loving my experience at Sushi st-jean, I was excited to try out a new ''all you can eat'' sushi place, and it was disapointing after the comparison.
You would assume that the staff in this type of restaurant would go above and beyond to make sure that the customers are well tended to, as you don't have an assigned waiter/waitress. To the exception of one young lady, who was lovely, the service was horrendous. No smiles, asside of dropping food on our table (and around it), no one ever asked if we needed anything etc. After our first lonely plate (we were 3 people) we had to wait 20 mins in order to get our orders, some were missing and never came.
The sushi was delicious, no complaints there. The ''wok'' aspect only consists of different proteins (sesame beef, orange beef etc), no noodles!!!?? Their idea of a pad thai is ridiculous, the only noodles option on the menu.
I would much prefer to pay a couple extra bucks to go to an esthetically beautiful place, where the staff is attentive and there is many options on the menu. Resume : 2/5
