Just so disappointing
We ordered a pitcher of Sapporo, the beer was rancid & bitter.
We ordered a highball & it was terribly watered down.
We ordered the Takoyaki & only 4 itty-bitty balls came out on the plate.
We ordered the Unagi Yakitori & the equivalent of 1 normal piece of unagi came out but on 2 skewers & was over cooked.
& many more small problems.
I was hoping when i saw the prices online that i was going to have a mildly "luxurious" experience with how overpriced everything is, but i ended up getting sub par japanese pub food for a luxury dining price. (Also the prices online are not the same as in the restaurant. Convenient.)
10.99$ for 4 takoyaki balls is genuinely highway robbery.
Service was decent, but for the price the food & drinks were genuinely pathetic. & idk about you, fellow reader, but i dont go to a restaurant to just have good service, i generally hope to have good food.
Total bill for 2 people with a pitcher of sapporo & 2 highballs came out to almost 200$... talk about insane
The exact same food we ate, & the exact same drinks we drank, would've cost us like half the price at any other izakaya, & if we had gone to Majesthe or Kinka, the food wouldve been twice as good.
Decor was cool...

Great food, good drinks & nice ambiance/decorations, but we had a such a horrible experience with our server I don't think we would ever come back. We had a large group of guests present, & our server verbally complained even though she had been properly tipped by everyone in the group, she was expecting a higher amount, & that if we "couldn't afford this restaurant, we should go somewhere else next time".View more

J'ai essayé pour la première fois le Restaurant Hanz? dans le vieux-montréal & j'ai aimé mon expérience. J'y suis allé pour l'anniversaire d'une amie & on était un groupe de 10. La serveuse était très sympathique, mais n'a pas donné d'informations sur le menu. J'ai commandé 1 cocktail "Totoro" qui était très bon & qui fonctionnait vraiment bien avec les plats que j'ai commandé. J'ai commencé dans la section cru du menu avec le tataki de bœuf qui était vraiment excellent. Une explosion de saveurs. Ensuite, j'ai pris des gyozas au porc & c'était bien, mais pas incroyable non plus. La sauce qui allait avec les gyozas était vraiment goûteuse. Pour finir, j'ai commandé un Okonomiyaki qui m'a beaucoup rappelé ceux que j'ai mangé au Japon. C'était très bien assaisonné & très bourratif. C'était une belle expérience somme toute, mais ça aurait été bien d'avoir des informations & des recommandations par la serveuse sur le menu.View more
