Great place for those are looking to live the Japanese experience in downtown Montreal. For those who don't know, they have no reservations, so you have to wait for your turn to get in, the waiting ro6om is cool with Japanese decos, we've got served tea. I've enjoyed the cocktails, Gempei. I will definitely comeback to Gokudo.View more
Yummy cocktails & dark intimate atmosphere. I will be back.View more
Came with my bf to celebrate our anniversary! They sat us at the booth but we were extremely close to other people, so they moved us to the bar where we met Jordan. He's from Paris & there was a language barrier bc his English wasn't so good & our French was ..well Gr 9 French lol! Regardless he was so kind & made us really good cocktails, gave us free shots & made our night! He curated cocktails for us based on what we liked, so if you're up for the experience - definitely let him be creative :) we didn't get food bc we came from dinner so I can't really comment on that part!View more
Came last night & sooo very disappointed with the food. The drinks & ambience were good, but don't come for the food. I had the 28$ "poke" & it was sooo bland, the tuna didn't taste like anything, & the shrimps were tiny - the kind you buy frozen from a grocery store just thawed up. I also had the picked veggie appetizer which lacked flavour & was only mildly pickled. Don't waste your money for food here...View more

I had a great time at this Japanese restaurant & bar. The ambiance & the vibe were really nice & relaxing. The music was not too loud & suited the mood. The food was delicious & authentic. I especially enjoyed the Sake & the Maki. The service was awesome & attentive. The staff were friendly & helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine & drinks.View more
The décor is beyond gorgeous, no denying that. The food was good, although the ingredients were fresh & high quality, it felt like it was prepared without love: sushi rolls were falling apart among other things. But the real reason why I take 2 stars off this place is the sake menu. I came to Gokudo with the intention of spending a decent amount on a nice bottle, but when you advertise SAQ sake at 4x the price, how can I trust that the 120$ is worth the price? When I saw the Haiku, which is 16$ at SAQ, priced at 55$ on your menu, I just lost faith. If a restaurant is comfortable being that dishonest, I can't trust any prices or recommendations.View more
Was our 1st time 2 days ago. Cool, quiet place with great drinks & service. Delicous cocktails (i had Yuzu )View more
There aren't very many dishes or specialty cocktails, but every one of them is worth ordering. The watermelon caviar was my favorite. The door that you walk in doesn't really look very welcoming but you should walk in anyway.View more
2023: the Bunshin was fantastic, the Gempei was really good, both well crafted. I enjoyed the unagi Maki as well. Pleasant efficient service. Wish they had a little more selection foodwise. 2018: Excellent service. Creative drinks. Nice decor. Definitely deserves its ranking among Canada's top bars.View more
Food was okay. Not really up to par with the price point. Place was nicely decorated but felt a little stiff. Cute spot for maybe a drink or two on a date night. Would not consider it for larger groups or longer stays.
Staff was exceptionally friendly & courteous. They provided a great experience.View more

Ambiance feutrée dans un speakeasy à la japonaise. Belle musique, bons cocktails & les sushis sont délicieux.View more
One of my very favourite places to spend time when I'm in MTL. Thrilled to see it do so well!View more
View more
Beautiful speakeasy. The outside was subtle—mainly black windows with a lantern near the door. Inside, the lighting was very dim, the decore was cozy yet mysterious. We got there close to opening on a Friday & it had a good amount of early birds there for a nice vibe. The drinks were great & service was very attentive. I felt like I was in Tokyo. Such a cool place to visit!

Went for drinks, they're really good!! Service was perfect too. I recommended their Abe (for whiskey fans) & Okame (tequila & litchi).

Speakeasy japonais au cœur du centre ville de Montréal. Un lieu tamisé & sombre avec une ambiance musicale qui colle parfaitement au lieu. Un grand merci à Yann & Jordan pour leur accueil, je recommande vivementView more
