Review Summary

Gibeau Orange Julep is described as iconic and fun, with the giant orange building and the creamy, frothy orange julep that many say is the star of the experience. Reviewers praise the juice as refreshingly sweet and distinctive, though a few find it overly sugary or milky in texture, and some say the taste can vary by batch. The menu blends classic fast food such as hot dogs, poutine, and burgers with the famous orange drink, and portions and quality are uneven across visits, with some dishes praised and others criticized as overpriced for fast food. Parking is easy and the venue has a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere, especially outdoors on sunny days, yet seating inside is limited and the space can feel crowded or touristy. Overall it remains a Montreal must for the orange juice and the iconic vibe, with strong opinions about value and consistency depending on what is ordered.

Yes. This is a must visit if you come to Montreal. It's an establishment & part of the city's history.

Another one part of the Montreal experience this place is a must go
I wish they still had roller blade service
Good juice

Everynight you get to see nice cars

Also a lot of police so beware if youll be doing some dumb shit

Shit got super expensive & their renovation made the juice less foamy & less creamy

I dont know what they did but it dosent taste the same as before

Lay off the artificial sweeteners Gibeau!!!

Honestly I was fully expecting to hate this place due to all the negative reviews. While some of them are true - it is pretty pricey for what you get - the food was actually very good. The poutine was salty but delicious. The chilli dog was excellent. The famous orange juice Julep was unique & not my favourite. I personally think it was worth the stop for this food & to see this giant orange structure. No complaints except for the price being high.

L'établissement a malheureusement changé leurs saucisses à hotdog. C'est une très mauvaise idée. Elle sont trop grosses & trop salées.

Leurs prix ont augmentés. 3 hotdog + une Orange Julep format Large = 34,95$. C'est vraiment exagéré.

They changed the type of saucisses they used in the hot-dogs. Bad idea. They are too big, more salty & watery.

& their prices went up. 3 hot-dogs+large Julep = 34.95$. Too much.

You haven't visited Montreal properly if you don't visit this place. The orange juice is to die for, & the food is really good but not the best poutine in Montreal.

Gibeau Orange Julep 🍊

Quick service

I ordered a hot dog Michigan, poutine & orange julep. Flavour is what you'd expect at a highly sought after casse croute.

The food, the ambiance, & the patron? A solid 10/10. The food never disappoints.
A true Montreal institution, worth every penny. Yes, the price is steep, but you're really paying for that legendary OJ

It had been around 15 years since I last ate at the Julep, & finally got around to trying their poutine. I did an Uber Eats order & was pleasantly surprised by how fast it was delivered…..a very positive start! Unfortunately I was disappointed by the poutine. First off, the large poutine is a ripoff at $17. It is too small! As for the food itself, I had high expectations for the rich looking sauce. As someone who never adds salt to anything, my first thought on tasting it was that it needed salt. The sauce is not bad, but didn't pop. I did enjoy the way the 3 ingredients blended together. If only the sauce tasted as rich as it looks….
