I really enjoyed my time here! The food was delicious, the eggplant appetizer & the crostini were my standout. The pasta could have had a bit more meat. The Italian sausage was a let down, not because it was bad but it was 28$ dollar for 1 sausage they could have added more side elements to compensate. Nonetheless, a good restaurant with a nice atmosphere.

Gia Vin & Grill is a hidden gem nestled in a historic building once used for stereos & recordings from the early 1900s & it feels like a hidden gem tucked away in a time capsule. The vintage, garage-like exterior gives off a cool LA or Brooklyn vibe, while inside, you're transported straight to Italy. The space feels like a cozy Roman trattoria, with light wood, marble, green tile, & exposed ductwork.
The restaurant's wine selection is impressive, & the staff is incredibly helpful in guiding you through it. The star of the show is the grilled meats, prepared in the traditional style of the Abruzzo region. We tried beef, duck hearts, lamb, & pork, all perfectly cooked & full of flavor. The Tuscan pappardelle with duck bolognese was rich & comforting, while the Italian pork sausage with snails, zucchini, & zucchini flowers offered a unique & delicious twist.

Nous avions réservé pour 21 h, mais on nous a finalement attribué une table à 21 h 30. Nous étions un groupe de 11 personnes, & la table qui nous a été assignée était clairement trop petite pour nous accueillir confortablement. Concernant la présentation des plats, elle était assez basique, loin d'être mémorable ou digne d'une photo pour Instagram. En résumé, l'expérience m'a semblé trop chère pour ce qu'elle offrait, & plutôt ordinaire. Quant à la nourriture, elle était correcte, mais sans plus, rien qui ne vaille vraiment le détour.
Nous avions réservé au Gia Bar à Vin pour 20h30, mais nous n'avons eu notre table qu'à 21h15, malgré qu'on nous ait dit que "ça ne serait pas long." Pour patienter, nous avons commandé une bouteille de vin à 85 $, que nous avions déjà terminée avant d'être assis, ce qui a gâché notre expérience culinaire. Comme compensation, on nous a offert des olives, mais cela nous a semblé insuffisant pour une attente aussi longue sans avertissement. Nous aurions apprécié une meilleure gestion des réservations ou, au minimum, un appel pour nous prévenir du retard. Pour un restaurant de ce niveau, l'organisation était décevante & un service qui ne s'est pas accomodé à notre sort, ce qui a terni notre soirée. Ce n'est pas notre première fois & on a jamais eu ce genre de problèmes donc c'était un poil décevant surtout en s'attendant à passer une belle soirée… Pour finir sur une note positive, la nourriture était tout simplement excellente!!
Wow! Just wow! Everything we've had was impressive! But the highlight was definitely the bisteca fiorentina is just THE BEST MEAT I've ever had (& I am Brazilian!!!!!). Melts in your mouth, & the sauce flavor… the wines are such a treat… thanks to an amazing night!!!
Amazing food & ambience! Was in Montreal for a Holiday & will definitely come back to this place! Shout out Victor! He made sure to take care of me throughout the experience & had super good recommendations!
Extraordinary. We had a truly delightful experience dining at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant, & the service was outstanding. The menu is quite complex for those who don't speak French (they don't have an English menu), but seeing our confusion & difficulty in choosing, the staff kindly & generously took charge & offered to select for us. Everything they sent to our table was exquisite. We enjoyed a bottle of wine & had an unforgettable evening.
Staff is incredibly welcoming & family friendly. We brought our 11 month old with us for dinner & felt right at home. Food is delicious, brought us back to Abruzzo!

2024: service was still excellent. Music was better. Lamb arrosticini, eggplant, fennel salad, & pici pasta with ragu were delicious. Great presentation overall. Suggested wine pairing worked well. Agua Di Gia cocktail was a bit boring. 2022: Friendly & efficient service. Great wine recommendations. Shared the lamb & beef arrosticini, the eggplant, the artichoke, the lamb sausage, & the duck tartare. All were unique & delicious. Music & decor could be a little more interesting, but overall a fantastic experience.
What a little gem, tucked away behind a Home Depot you would never guess this place is an elevated traditional italien restaurant. Menu changes all the time, I had a hard time picking just a few things! Very very recommended
We went here twice. Each time, we asked the server which food & drinks to order, & enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime night 😍 The food is good & wine/cocktail pairings are next level. My favorite restaurant in Montreal.
