Review Summary

Gia Ba is widely celebrated as a premier destination for authentic Szechuan cuisine in Montreal, with many patrons expressing immense joy over its reopening as a dedicated takeout and delivery establishment. While the vast majority of feedback praises the flavorful, high-quality dishes like the Gong Bao Brussels sprouts and various Szechuan specialties, some customers have voiced disappointment regarding inconsistent portion sizes, excessive fat in certain meat dishes, and the lack of an on-site dining area. Despite mixed opinions on pricing and service efficiency, the overall consensus remains that this neighborhood staple provides a rare and necessary option for genuine, high-quality Chinese food outside of the city's downtown core.

We had a $60 meal including beef & Chinese cabbage & sweet & sour chicken. Both plates were poorly prepared. The chicken dish didn't actually have any chicken in it. Only dough, we opened every piece & there was no meat inside. For a $25 plate this was shocking. We have ordered from this restaurant previously & it was ok.

It's a decent takeout option, the neighbourhood lacks quality Chinese food, this place was good enough!

A very decent Szechuan/Chinese take-out place. One of the best outside Montreal's chinatown. The menu is not too big but most of the dishes are real Szechuan style. It's a good education for Canadians who don't really know about REAL Chinese food.
