About

Garage Beirut serves authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes that emphasize traditional preparation methods and bold, aromatic spice profiles. The menu showcases a variety of charcoal-grilled meats, savory mezze platters, and fresh vegetable preparations rooted in Mediterranean culinary traditions. Guests interact with an environment defined by industrial-inspired aesthetics that contrast with the warmth of classic Levantine hospitality. Each plate focuses on the balance of textures, utilizing essential ingredients like tahini, zaatar, and hand-pressed olive oil to ground the flavor experience. This establishment prioritizes the integrity of regional staples by maintaining consistent standards for authentic preparation and plate presentation. The atmosphere remains structured around casual communal engagement, allowing the robust flavors of the Levant to take center stage in every serving provided to the patrons.

Review Summary

Garage Beirut is widely regarded as an authentic gem in Montreal, celebrated for its high-quality Lebanese cuisine, cozy atmosphere, and exceptionally warm service. Many guests praise the freshness and depth of flavor in dishes like the dip platters, grilled meats, and traditional mezze, often highlighting the restaurant's ability to recreate the nostalgic, homemade feel of classic Lebanese cooking. While the majority of diners find the food outstanding and the staff highly accommodating, some visitors express concerns regarding pricing, noting that portions can feel small relative to the cost. Additionally, due to the restaurant's small size and popularity, reservations are strongly recommended, though a few patrons have noted challenges with noise levels during busy hours or inconsistent experiences with portion sizes and value.

Great service & nice guys, but the kebabs both meat & chicken were dry & so bland. Fatteh Hummus was so heavy & needed to be more sour. Nice experience though.

My friend & I went for dinner to this restaurant. We requested to get a table inside the restaurant as it's very cold outside. The waiter ensured as soon as there is an opening they will allow us to seat inside. We ordered food as we're in a hurry. Then once there was a opening we requested the manager to allow us to seat inside, but he refused us to go inside with a very impolite language. I mentioned him that you can't talk like this way & it's not the way you treat your customer. He then came close to me, pushed me & used the f*** words. I told him you can't come close to me, it's covid-19 situation, maintain a safe distance when you talk. My friend & I repeated told him, "don't touch us & you can't physically & verbally abuse us. It's a serious harassment. If you said in the first place, you won't allow us to move inside once it's free, we won't order the food as it's very cold outside". Even we requested him to stop yelling, he kept going on, pushed me three times & kept using the f*** words repeated. He also mentioned "Get the fuck out of my restaurant". We then realised that if someone could behave so rough & rudely just to request him to get a table inside (there were 2 tables open inside & no one was waiting in the line) he could do anything if we start arguing with him for his bad attitude. Then we decided it's better to leave the place before he hits us as he was getting aggressive when we told that we are going to complain against you. We soon requested the waiter to bring the bill without finishing our dinner & left the place as early as possible. I've been in Canada for 6 years, completed my MSc from UBC, & now doing PhD in McGill University. My friend is also doing PhD in Concordia University. This is the first time we've faced such a horrible behavior from a restaurant manager/owner. Please be careful before you visit this place with your friends & family & I am sure he behaved the same way previously with other customers.
