I really enjoy the food & service here, both are excellent. However, I don't think it's reasonable to have to pay just to book a table, especially when I'll already be paying for food, drinks, & tips. Since the restaurant is located downtown, a last-
minute cancellation is unlikely to affect them much. The food is delicious, though quite expensive. Because of the booking fee, I've chosen not to return, which is unfortunate given how much I enjoy the experience otherwise
Je reviens systématiquement à chaque passage annuel à Montréal & c'est toujours aussi bon ! J'ai même converti un neo-montréalais hier soir 😎
Garage Beirut is such a gem! 🇱🇧 The food is fresh, flavourful, & full of that homemade taste - every bite reminds me why I keep coming back. Their mezze is always generous & delicious, the grilled meats are perfectly seasoned, & the atmosphere feels warm & welcoming. Service is friendly & attentive every single time. Been a loyal customer for years - highly recommend if you want authentic Lebanese flavours done right!
This hidden gem is the best & most authentic Lebanese food I've ever had. It should be counted among the best restaurants in the city.
The food was good if a little overcooked. But the flavors & service were great!
To the owner: you need to fix the sound issue. The restaurant was full & we were a group of 7, & we could not hear each other due to the massive echo from everyone talking in the restaurant. Your restaurant is tiny but still had this effect. You need to put in some insolation such as carpet, curtains, plants, acoustic panels.. if not, this restaurant is absolutely horrible for groups. The entire night we couldn't hear what two people down would say.
The food is okay, I am not Lebanese so I can't judge if the food is authentic, but it did taste good. The waitresses are super nice.
Second time coming to Montreal & dining at the Garage Beirut. Affordable & amazing Lebanese food in town. Everything is tasty & the right portions to share. You won't regret.
Very good food & nice atmosphere. Service is very good especially Sam & Noah
Loved the food. Very clean & very nice staff. Can't wait to visit this place again!!
4 out of 5. Service was great but i found the food was itemized to maximize profits. For example the meat was separated from the sides forcing you to order more. Ed
Atmosphere:
The place itself is tiny. Tried to get a reservation on same day via website, & it was apparently fully booked... decided to go anyway hoping we may be able to sit if we waited a little bit; Lo & behold, the place was completely empty??? So no wait time for us (yay!)
Service:
Service was quick & courteous without more... exchanged maybe 15 words with the waitress from start to finish.
Food:
We ordered
- Fattouch salad
- Cold mezzes tasting plater (hummus, baba ganouj, labneh & muhamara for 22$)
- Hot mezze tasting plater (patries - for 24$)
- kibbeh neye (raw beef with bulgur)
The kibbeh neye was good; its price, quality & quantity in line with other good libanese/syrian restaurants.
The fattoush salad was a ~mess~:
For 18$ I expect more salad than the size of my hand or at the very least a good quality salad. The salad was extremely bland; aside from the fresh mint & overly generous pomegranate molasses drizzle on top there was no identifiable dressing. There were giant chunks of tomatoes (1 1/2' thick), & about 3 large pieces of libanese cucumber.
The cold mezze were ~VERY~ expensive for their price & the quality was frankly not there. This was the worst baba banouj we've ever tasted (doubtful they even put salt in there), the muhamara was... okay, the labneh was a complete bust (plain, store-bought quality labneh decorated with ~dried~ mint. There was about 2 table spoons' worth of dip in every tiny bowl.
The hot mezzes were really good - again, too expensive for the size.
Overall I do not recommend this place.
Meat is well seasoned, but the hummus is lacking flavour… for the price, I would expect better quality ingredients. Good service & good atmosphere though!
The food was absolutely delicious,
But the area was not fancy. They prepared our order really late after. Although we were the only customers there.
Best lebanese I've had!
My husband has raved about this place since he lived in Montreal 10+ years ago. We revisited his old haunting grounds, & he's happy to report that the quality is still the same. The chef/owner has been consistently making great Lebanese food. & even recognized my husband!
Everything was so delicious. The hummus was very creamy, the fattoush dressing was well balanced, the sojok spices were out of this world, the fatteh hummus was very unique, & the jebneh was perfectly crunchy. We also got the kanefe, but it was a bit sweet for my taste.
I would come back in a heartbeat. If you want fresh, delicious Lebanese food with great service, this is your spot.
Great Lebanese restaurant. Authentic, very few tables, reservations recommended
This little gem was one of our favourite spots when we visited Montreal. Despite it being extremely busy for dinner, the staff were able to get our table for 4 seated in mere minutes & were attentive throughout. Without us even asking, they provided plastic plates for my young children & constantly refilled our pita basket & were gracious in answering questions or offering guidance about the menu. The servers were lovely & personable.
I found the food to be amazingly delicious, & the standouts for me were certainly the labneh, muhammara, fatteh lahmeh & the shish taouk. Best of all, the room was cozy & felt like I was eating at a friend's house!
