During our visit to Restaurant Gandhi, we sampled the Chicken Tikka, Veg Rogan, & Veg Biryani. The overall experience was a mixed bag. The Chicken Tikka had a nice smoky flavor & was well-cooked, but it lacked the vibrant seasoning typically expected from this dish. It felt a bit underwhelming in terms of spices. The Veg Rogan was flavorful with a rich, aromatic gravy. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, retaining a slight crunch which added to the texture. The portion size was generous & satisfying. The Veg Biryani was decent, with fragrant rice & a good mix of vegetables. While it was enjoyable, it could have used a bit more seasoning to bring out the full array of spices that a biryani is known for. Service was excellent, with attentive & friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy & inviting, making it a pleasant place to dine. Overall, Restaurant Gandhi offers a reasonable dining experience.Voir plus
Unreal, just unreal. This is exactly what you want at an Indian restaurant, especially in Montreal. Delicious curries, friendly service & gergous desigining for the interior. I don't understand why there are so many 1 star reviews. It is not fair on behalf of the restaurant. Ichecked on TripAdvisor & they are well above 4.5 stars. Once the proprietor focused his attention on our table at dinner, we got personalized, excellent service. The other waiters don't appear to care for the restaurant or their customers, sadly. At 1:30 pm a day before, we were greeted at the door by one waiter, who said they were closed! Curtly, he pointed us to the "tourist area"(!!!!) Suggesting we could all go there. Our aloo dish was literally spoiled. The papadum was not cooked. They admitted to warming up frozen pakoras. Don't eat here please. The service was horrible. The food took forever to arrive, the table was never cleared, & nobody came to check on our meal or to give the check.Voir plus
This is an amazing place for food, ambience, taste & service. Md. Faruk Ahmed, the owner is phenomenal. He gives attention to each & every table which is commendable. Must visit this place.
