Review Summary

Flyjin is widely regarded as a premier destination in Old Montréal that seamlessly blends a sophisticated Japanese-Latin fusion dining experience with a vibrant, high-energy nightclub atmosphere. Visitors frequently praise the impeccable quality of the food, highlighting the sushi, robata, and creative dishes like the short ribs and crispy rice as culinary standouts. While the ambiance and service are often described as top-notch, with many reviews commending the attentive and welcoming staff, some guests note that the transition from restaurant to club can feel intense and the pricing for drinks can be quite high. Although the venue is celebrated as an electric spot for a memorable night out, experiences at the door and occasional service inconsistencies related to tipping or staff interactions can vary for some patrons.

the staff were very kind & efficient.
The music had a good progression from dinner to drinks, speaking of which,
the cocktails were amazing.
Lastly the sharing menu had generous portions & delightful flavours.

The food & drinks were absolutely INCREDIBLE (highly recommend the spicy avocado crispy rice & shrimp tempura roll!) & Madeline was the most attentive & sweet server we've had in Montreal. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Unfortunately, not my best experience in Montreal.
I arrived around 10 p.m. for a staff Christmas party & was met with a very rude doorman who questioned me excessively, to the point where it felt uncomfortable. I eventually stopped answering & asked my friend to come get me instead.

The ambiance inside was nice-very club-style-but the drinks were extremely expensive. Two gin & tonics cost me $40 + tips. This place is fancy, but the experience (especially at the door) didn't live up to that image.

Really disappointing experience at Flyjin. The bartender implied that people'usually tip 18 percent,' which felt completely insane considering they charge about $20 per Corona or vodka cran. Im usually as generous as possible with tipping - within reason. She came back with the machine expecting us to pay an extra $10 , I did it so not to cause any issues. Our drinks then tasted like pure cranberry juice with barely (if any) alcohol. We spent around $80 for two beers & two drinks that were basically juice. ($90 total for the extra tip) I wouldn't even have minded paying the extra 10 - if I had at least a shot of vodka in my drink.

The bouncer was the only saving grace. I let him know what happened on the way out. He apologized on behalf of the bar & even acknowledged that this has been an ongoing issue. That's the only reason this isn't a 1-star review.

Felt totally ripped off. Wouldn't recommend. I wish I could get my money back for those drinks. Bartender is so entitled & rude.

This place is awesome, amazing service. I couldn't put my drink down for one second without someone being there instantly to assist with a refill. The food is non stop & everything is incredible! Off the charts EVERYTHING! Would highly recommend, it's a great time.
