Bonjour. Nous venons souvent chez-vous & nous apprécions beaucoup le restaurant. Nous remarquons parfois une baisse de la qualité du service & c'était le cas samedi dernier. C'était plus lent que d'habitude malgré que le restaurant était à moitié plein. Difficile de communiquer avec un serveur ou une serveuse, plusieurs périodes d'attente où on a dû se lever pour aller à leur recherche & leur parler. Nous souhaitions vous en faire part.
C'était ma première fois chez Fenêtre sur Kaboul, & que dire... c'est un énorme coup de coeur ! Si je pouvais donner 6 je le ferais sans hésiter. L'endroit est chaleureux, les plats sont succulents. Nous avons pris 4 entrées & 2 plats principaux, ils étaient fantastiques! Le personnel est accueillant, sympathiques. Allez-y les yeux fermés! À bientôt! Sara
I went here because I had been craving "Kabuli pulao" traditionally made with tender carrots shreds, raisins, almonds & lamb in rice. The restaurant satisfied my craving. Their "Kabouli Pulao" was well made, the meat was tender & the serving size was quite adequate too. However, I didn't find any almonds in there as it said in the recipe. The recommended "Firni" dessert wasn't good at all. It was quite bland & it didn't have any pistachios or cardamom in it as it said in the menu. The green tea with cardamom was good but on the milder side. I feel it could be stronger as it traditionally is, & should come with sugar, at least on the side. The ambience was simplistic with a traditional look (lots of maroon) & pretty good but the place could use some better lighting. There were no serviettes available so I would advise some paper napkins too besides the cloth ones, not that it was much of a problem. Then again, maybe they were trying to be eco-friendly. The owner Obaid was generally hospitable. However, he insisted on speaking only in French & I had to struggle through that. Once I was done eating though, I found him conversing with other guests in English, after which he gladly switched with me as well. Maybe it was a miscommunication on my part though, to be fair. Anyway, he was a good & polite host otherwise. They close their kitchen early though, I think around 9 p.m. so don't be late.
Très bon restaurant avec des plats qui ont du goût dans une très belle ambiance. De plus c'est calme !! On s'entend parler & c'est assez rare pour être souligner. En revanche, dernièrement il y avait des petits couacs niveau réservation & service... attention car nous étions habitués à mieux. Restaurant recommandé tout de même, de la très bonne cuisine.
On aime bien la nourriture mais J'ai trouve que dernièrement la nourriture est plus acide que d'habitude.
Excellent dinning experience. The 4 of us who ate here came from London, Newyork, vancouver & Toronto & I must say were all equally impressed by the quality, authenticity & variety of the food. The service was wonderful, engaging & very welcoming. I didn't expect much from the restaurant having been left unimpressed by most of the restaurants in Canada (standards are high in London England) but this was pleasant experience. My only advice to the owners would be to increase the volume served as after all it is Afghan cuisine & we are known for our generosity with food. Many thanks

I tried the qabooli pulao & their traditional Icecream.
Lovely host, simple but great ambience with nice music playing in the background matching the type of cuisine. Lovely food. Loved the Manto & the Zardak Chalow.
Un beau petit restaurant avec un bon service. Le garçon nous a bien conseillé & nous a pris en charge. Nous avons pris un mélange de plusieurs entrées que nous avons partagé & nous étions bien remplies. La nourriture est goûteuse & bien fraîche. Je vous recommande l'entrée de citrouille ainsi que la salade afghani & la crème glacée à la cardamome très généreuse!
Le menu formule entrée, plat, dessert sans oublier le thé est vraiment très correct.
La nourriture étais excellente & le choix des plats variés. J’ai pris une soupe ash maison en entrée les Kofta Chalow en plat & un pudding de lait au pistache en dessert
La salle est très jolie & permet de découvrir certains vêtements traditionnels afghans.
Je recommande grandement & pense revenir d’ici peu
Belle découverte. Nous y retournerons assurément pour découvrir d'autres plats. Nous souhaitons aussi essayer des recettes à la maison suite à nos découvertes, comme la soupe maison & l'entrée de citrouille.
The food is amazing & the service outstanding! My husband & I stumbled across this restaurant & had no idea what to expect, we were blown away! We want to come back tomorrow!!! I had the house salad with Manto, my husband had the soup with spicy chicken.
