So many of these reviews seem targeted & fake. The service & food has always been amazing there & I go regularly. I was there recently on Mother's Day & Mo & the whole team made a phenomenal job getting it done on this chaotic day. Great spot for brunch always !!
Great food, friendly service, even during busy F1 weekend. Mohammed got us seated quickly. Great vibe.
I came to eva a couple months after it opened (this review is long overdue) & I was expecting the food & experience to be so much better than what it was. I tried the egg & cheese sandwich (eggslut). For 17$, to be served a sandwich on white POM bread with undercooked eggs (it was still super slimy) & kraft singles cheese (not even real cheese) was shocking. No sides nothing. The service was ok, slow. For that price for a single sandwich, the ingredients should be high quality. Do better EVA !
Place is cute for pics, food is good too , nice place to have brunch with friends
Un service agréable avec le beau sourire de Isabela. Une superbe fille
I was actually present during the situation being described in the recent review, & I feel it's important to share what really happened. The manager was not aggressive or racist at all he was simply doing his job & handling a very busy Mother's Day service professionally.
The restaurant was clearly packed, & the group involved did not have a reservation while many other guests did. From what I witnessed, the staff remained calm despite being spoken to disrespectfully. In fact, some comments made by that family toward other Black customers nearby were uncomfortable & inappropriate.
It's unfair to publicly accuse staff of racism when they were simply following reservation policies during one of the busiest days of the year. The manager handled the situation far better than most people would under that pressure.
I've been here before & always experienced respectful service, good food, & hardworking staff. One-sided reviews can seriously damage a business, so I think people should hear both perspectives before judging.
Called the main line for all of the restaurants ahead to make a reservation & was told reservations weren't possible unless it was for a group of 20+, but that we'd'have no problem' getting seated at Eva's. That could not have been further from the truth.
We arrived, waited at the front for over 10 minutes without being acknowledged once, while multiple groups behind us were seated first. When we finally approached the manager to ask if there was a waitlist or process, the first thing out of his mouth, in an openly hostile tone, was:'Do you have a reservation?'
We explained the situation & instead of attempting to resolve it professionally, he became immediately defensive & aggressive:'Who did you talk to? Not me.'
It was Mother's Day. People expect busy. What they do not expect is arrogance, disorganization, & staff who treat customers like they are inconveniences for walking through the door.
I'm not sure whether bias or racism played a role in how this particular manager chose to speak to us, but the level of aggression & hostility was absolutely concerning & completely inappropriate for someone responsible for guest experience.
The bigger issue here is not one rude interaction. It's a service model problem. If your front-of-house leadership communicates with guests this way, it damages your brand far beyond a single table. People will tolerate waits. They will tolerate mistakes. What they won't tolerate is being dismissed & spoken to with contempt. This particular manager is undoubtedly causing high turnover rates with wait staff in an industry already struggling to retain employees.
Whoever owns these establishments should seriously evaluate who is managing customer experience, because attitudes like this cost reputation, repeat business, & revenue faster than they realize.
We brought our business elsewhere, where we enjoyed ourselves, ate well & tipped generously.
Manager was incredibly rude. I am a 22 year old girl, was trying to do a surprise brunch for my mom on mother's day, & the manager, a grown man, was being extremely aggressive & combative to me for no reason. As the other reviews pointed out I think this might be a case of racism. Extremely disrespectful behavior, & honestly a bit scary. I hope the staff here are not treated as bad as the customers are!
