Lunch entre collègues. Cuisine / plats : exquis, savoureux & bien présentés. Le service a été un peu rapide mais nous aurions dû aviser de ralentir alors nous en prenons la responsabilité. Sinon, très courtois & professionnel. Nous reviendrons & invitons ceux qui ne connaissent pas ce resto de tenter l'expérience.View more

via LibroEnjoyed some time with colleagues here for lunch. Fast & friendly service. Food was pretty good (Bavette & Fries). My colleagues had the Gnocci, & Salmon. They enjoyed as well. I tried the Gnocci - very, very nice dish. Menu is expensive & unfortunately the one dish that 3 of us wanted to order was not being offered. That started the experience off a little low since we had looked at the menu before & were quite set on that dish. Other than that, I enjoyed my lunch!
via LibroBusiness lunch: Food I ordered was very good! (salmon). I saw the beef shank looked excellent. The steak with fries looked sad & boring. The tartares tasted good. The service was a bit slow & not engaging but staff were friendly & nice overall. The ambiance was quiet & great. Seats were comfortable. For a business meeting of 10-12 people, they provided a good comfortable & quiet space for everyone.
via LibroThe menu is very limited & over priced. The salad was old & the fries tasted like they were refried a second time. A very disappointing experience. Also don't think lunch for two people should come to $110 without any alcohol & the quality of food that was served.

I've been eating at Essence for years. Working downtown & happily situated right across the street from Essence, it was our favourite place for lunch. Then Covid-19 came. & we were away from our offices & the restaurant for many months. Now that we're back part time, looking out our office window we were delighted to see that Essence was opened. We excitedly booked our lunch yesterday. It was wonderful being back! The setup was professionally & beautifully done to keep us safe with social distancing intact. We were outside on the Terrace & it felt just like a most wonderful return to normal. & the food was delicious as it always was. Nd the staff were masked & politely keeping their distance.
I'm so happy we are back together in this new normal & look forward to many many more lunches in the near future!

Excellent restaurant & service impeccable!!
Il y a toujours de l'eau dans nos verres, du pain & du beurre dans le petit panier sur la table, sans compter que les repas sont franchement délicieux.
Les prix sont raisonnables & c'est un endroit parfait pour un lunch d'affaires ou un 5 à 7.
Je recommande définitivement.

J'adore aller à essence pour un 5 à 7 après le bureau ou même pour mon heure de lunch. La nourriture y est remarquable & le service excellent.
Je le conseille donc à tout niveau tant pour une party de bureau que pour une expérience culinaire

Bon resto. Lors de ma première visite, excellentes frites servies avec la bavette. L'entrée de salade était d'une bonne grosseur. 2e visite, j'ai choisi des pâtes. Bonne portion, cuite al dente, & bel équilibre avec les ingrédients qui composaient le plat. Un petit peu plus cher qu'un lunch sur le pouce mais cela en vaut la peine.
