Review Summary

Reviews consistently praise Espresso Bar 1720 for excellent espresso and high quality pastries, with apricot and pistachio croissants drawing particular praise and bicerin noted as a must try; the coffee is described as rich and balanced, often served with careful attention to presentation and small details like water on the side and a warmed cup; the space is described as cozy and calm, with comfy seating, reliable wifi, and a two-floor layout that works well for working or studying, including an inviting outdoor area; staff are repeatedly called friendly, attentive, and helpful, creating a welcoming daily escape vibe; many comment that it is a gem in the neighborhood and a favorite spot for espresso lovers, though some notes include wishing for later hours, more pastry variety or lunch options, and occasional mention of iced drinks not having foam; overall the place stands out for consistent quality, atmosphere, and hospitality.

If you're looking for high-quality caffeine & zero human interaction, this is your gold mine. Personally, I'd trade a little less silence for a simple'hello.'

Been somewhat a regular here since they opened. The owner really cares about quality, & it shows in the products. Coffee is more old school unlike the popular third wave coffee shops around Montreal, which makes this place more special, imo. It's also just really good coffee + Croissants are perfect. Since it's in a residential neighborhood where people don't hang much, it's usually not too crowded either, unlike downtown & other popular hype neighborhoods or even Monkland village. It's cozy & cute, overall highly recommend:))

Love stopping in here for coffee & a pastry every time I visit the area. Open early, fresh croissants, nice variety & delicious coffee. Loved the apricot croissant today. Simple & quality!

Yummy high quality coffee. It's a must try!

I hope they learn to do some latte art as well.
