The Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg is world famous. Real gourmets also remember the Hermitage (Ermitage) restaurant in Moscow. It is there, at the end of the XIX century, that French chef Lucien Olivier invented his renowned Russian salad.
Ermitage restaurant in Montreal keeps both traditions: the artistic atmosphere of the Saint-Petersburg Museum and the refined cuisine of Moscow famous French restaurant.
Ermitage feels like a cozy, elegant hideaway with old world decor and a warm, family run atmosphere. The menu embraces authentic Eastern European and European flavors, with many items made from scratch, from bread and butter to desserts. Dishes such as beef stroganoff, pelmeni, chicken Kiev and borscht earn standout praise, along with vareniki and a memorable tasting menu that showcases traditional technique. Desserts like medovik, blinchiki crepes and homemade ice cream top off meals, while the service is consistently attentive, friendly and welcoming. The ambiance, candlelight and refined yet comforting decor transport guests, making it a great setting for celebrations or intimate meals at good value. Ermitage is frequently described as a memorable, homey and special dining experience that keeps guests coming back.
Great food & ambiance..THe decor & music made us feel like in Russia, the band man played great romantic music, we all enjoyed it & Highly recommended place for authentic russian delights
Excellent Food. Excellent, friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. Recommend ordering the Tasting Menu for 2 persons -5 course dinner witch includes 3 different Russian & Eastern Europe Entrée Sampling platters, Lemon & Vodka Sorbet, choice of 1 of 4 main courses & dessert. Small, but good wine list & of course a selection of vodkas.

Visited Ermitage with my boyfriend last night. I've lived in Canada for 11 years now but am Russian-Ukrainian. The taste of food really hit home for me. I highly recommend this restaurant for some truly authentic Russian homemade food including Borchtch, Solianka & Chicken Kiev. You must have a slice of Medovik for dessert, it is to die for.
Its been 20 years of awesome, delicious & authentic Russian food in a magnificent ambience. They do catering & everything is home made starting from the bread to the end dessert. Thank you so much!
The food was excellent, particularly the fish appetizer in the tasting menu for two. We ordered the wapiti & the lamb & they were both very good. I loved our server; she was this amazing Russian woman, very too the point but made excellent recommendations. The ambiance is charming.

Visited the restaurant for a birthday celebration. This was our first time there as we are from Ottawa. We ordered the Menu Degustation, & if you want to try different Russian plates, this is the best way to do it. The service was outstanding, the music was very nice. There was a power outage around 10pm in the area (not just the restaurant), however that did not spoil our plans, we continue to celebrate. The ambience was nice with candlelight & another table celebrating a birthday found some music on the Iphone, so we just danced the night away. Once more, amazing service by the waiter, he was very nice, polite, attentive! We are definitely be back, next time we are in Montreal. Thank you for everything.
Exceptional service & amazing food ! Lunch menu is very complete. This place is a jewel nestled in CDN near the Oratory. A must to try for amazing Russian food !
The Russian food was excellent, you might not believe but my first Vodka shot I took it here. For me it was a complete immersion to the Russian culture. Loved it
I had a traditional Russian food it was delicious & the size of the meal was very enough. As a drink I had some great Russian Vodka I really missed it since I am back from Russia haven't tried such a good one. A unique Russian experience in the heart of Montreal.
My ex husband was a Russian & it’s because of him I got to know Ermitage. Since then I got addicted to the Borscht! It’s extremely tasty & I like it a lot. The service is excellent & the staff very professional. A great restaurant!
I love this restaurant first of all because they always have new Russian recipes. Overall I can say the service is 5/5, food: 5/5 & their way of handling guests is also top. Would recommend!
