The Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg is world famous. Real gourmets also remember the Hermitage (Ermitage) restaurant in Moscow. It is there, at the end of the XIX century, that French chef Lucien Olivier invented his renowned Russian salad.
Ermitage restaurant in Montreal keeps both traditions: the artistic atmosphere of the Saint-Petersburg Museum and the refined cuisine of Moscow famous French restaurant.
Ermitage is widely celebrated as a cozy, authentic gem in Montreal that offers an exceptional Eastern European dining experience. Guests consistently praise the high quality of the homemade cuisine, noting that everything from the bread to the desserts is prepared with remarkable care and love. The atmosphere is frequently described as warm, elegant, and nostalgic, feeling more like a private home than a traditional restaurant. Furthermore, the service is consistently highlighted for being exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and professional, making it a favorite destination for both special celebrations and relaxed meals.
Ordered their tasting menu & extra dessert with some friends. The meat was cooked to our liking. The desserts are fantastic. Staffs were very friendly, & service was good. Overall, we had a good time here. Def will come back
Loved the experience to enjoy great & delicious Russian food. The 3 kind fish, the borscht, the Kiev chicken with veggies & the dessert all yummy 😋 loved the presentation & the warm service 🤠🤩 for sure I'll be back.
Simply amazing! It was our first time there, & definitely not the last one. The food was exquisite (my husband is Russian but I'm vegetarian, & I was surprised about the tasty food). It was our 10th year wedding anniversary & the owner was incredible, they offered us a dessert with sparkly candles & crowns lol. Thank you very much!
Wow, wow, wow.... This was the first time eating Russian food. The restaurant was tastefully decorated for the Christmas holiday. We were greeted & immediately seated at a table for two. Since it was the first time here, we opted for the tasting menu. A basket of warm bread was brought to the table with butter. We started with the fish platter, then the salmon caviar & blini. A small bit of homemade sour cream was provided. Next was a platter of piroshki & pelmeni. To clean our pallets, we had sherbet that was doused with vodka. How refreshing. The main dishes, which we selected, consisted of an order to lamb chops & an order of wapiti steak. Both have light gravy, roasted potatoes, & a variety of vegetables. A dessert of blinchiki with a light cheese stuffing & a drizzle of a cherry/raspberry coulis. Tea & / or coffee was also available. We were stuffed. The food was ALL, absolutely delicious. We will definitely go back. The service was unbelievable. Parking is a bit tough but doable. Reservations are highly recommended. The restaurant is very small & fills up quickly. Enjoy...
Cozy, good for families, a nice decoration, great & friendly staff, a peaceful environment, authentic dishes & tasty food! Delicious desserts, Highly Recommended ;)
My friends & I recently dined at Ermitage & had a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff & seated promptly. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy & inviting, with dim lighting & tasteful decor.
The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to different dietary preferences. We were impressed by the range of choices available, from appetizers to desserts. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Each dish was expertly prepared & presented beautifully. The flavors were well-balanced & the ingredients were fresh.
Overall, our experience at Ermitage was fantastic. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, & inviting ambiance made for a memorable dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch restaurant to enjoy a meal.
