I'm from Thailand & I can say the taste is not quite authentic. However, the taste is okay.
The pad tastes good but it is not what the pad thai should taste like. Pad krapao is very salty & if you know thai people, we make fun of any restaurant who do pad kra pow with the long bean because it make the volume of the food to be bigger (less meat)
Anyway, it is an okay place to have Thai food but for anyone who is looking for authentic Thai food. Just saying, this is not it.
Simply a must visit restaurant in Montreal.
I've never been to Thailand but Pumpui prides itself on serving authentic Thai dishes. I'll take their word for it because the flavours in their offerings are god damn sensational 👏👏
The fish ball curry is in my top 5 dishes in all of Montreal. Straight up.
Solid value for the price, service is great, & this summer they have a lil terrace in the back!
The place fills up really quickly after they open. There is a small terrace outside which helps as there are only 6 tables inside.
Not a huge selection of dishes but a few very good ones. The pad Thai & pad kaprao were very good as well as the mango sticky rice dessert.
Highly recommended.
We came all the way from Jean Drapeau to Little Italy for this amazing Thai restaurant & it didn't disappoint us. One of our friends recommended this place & said this is their go-to restaurant every week (they come at least once a week). After trying it out, I totally understood why they were doing that. Amazing place worth going to this regular!
We ordered all three entrées to share. The chicken wings are definitely the best. The tofu pad thai was really tasty as well. Loved the fish balls in the yellow curry - very tender. The mango sticky rice was very fresh. The price was decently cheap, compared to the other famous Thai restaurant in town, Pichai.
We had a great time dining at this little cute Thai restaurant! It's definitely worth coming back again!!
My favourite Thai restaurant in Montreal. Great food , friendly efficient & charming service, in a relaxed atmosphere.
I can't emphasize enough on how good the food is. It food came out hot, tasted amazing! We got tons of suggestions from Savanna, & she was sweet enough to explain the flavor profiles to us as well :)
Absolutely loved the pad Thai, the fish balls in green curry, sticky mango & their AMAZING icecream.
I had a good feeling about this place as soon as I walked in, & boy did the flavors not disappoint. This is THE place to get Thai food in Montreal. Generous portions & amazing taste. This will make it into the Montreal repeats for sure.
Be sure to come on the early side as there's not a ton of seating & it fills up quick but it's so so worth it. More tables are out back in the summer.
Get very crowded. But its worth the wait. The food is great pad Thai is excellent.
I loooooooooooooove this place. Honestly the sticky mango rice oufff.
& the pad thai with their lil side chili sauce. Fck me UP girl. It is niceeeeeeeeeeeee
The employees are super sweet too. Ofc will return.
Mon amie thaïlandaise le confirme: ça goûte comme à la maison! Bouffe thaï sans compromis & authentique à MTL.
Cute cozy place for Thai food. Presentation & taste felt very homey.
The pad thai (with shrimp & tofu) is exceptional. We have been back here 10 times ❤? consistantly great. Super cozy too & top notch service!
Wow! Le meilleur Pad thai que j'ai mangé en dehors de Thaïlande! Cuisine vraiment authentique, je recommande à 100%. Salle à manger style dinner.
This is my go-to restaurant in Montreal. Mostly gluten free, always have lots of veggie options. The vegetables are always cooked to perfection (crunchy & fresh). My favourites are the vegan pad kaprao with an extra egg on top (lol). The salad is so delicious & fragrant. Love to get the pumpkin fritters from time to time because of the crispiness & umami - note that the sauce is very fragrant & herbalicious. Don't get me started on the mango rice because i will not stop talking. So creamy & juicy & purr. Pad thai is excellent, curries as well. I mean there's not one thing i don't like about this restaurant. Yes actually there is, it's the the pear rice. Really not giving what it's supposed to give. Love the staff & the place & the decoration & the vibe. Recommend x1000.
It's okay Thai food. The portion size is a bit small for the price & there isn't much meat in the curry or khao soi. But the seasoning & spices are flavourful I also hope they eventually mix thai iced tea themselves instead of selling the canned versions.
Wow wow wow....! A fantastic meal in a cozy atmosphere on a chilly snowy evening. Unbelievable flavours, every bite a step closer to the sadness of finishing a memorable meal. Had the chicken wings, massaman curry, pad thai & pad paak with pork. The pear sticky rice dessert put it over the top. Umami overload!
