The interior is in serious need of a refresh as it clearly is showing its age. The restaurant is 1 large open room so it was very noisy & I could hardly hear the person across the table from me. We were there on a Saturday night so it may be quieter at other times. The food quality was ok but not great. The greek salad was tasty but only came with 2 small cubes of feta cheese which was surprising for a $22 salad. The waiters were very attentive & refilled our water glasses often. Unfortunately, many of the fish on the menu were not available & all were listed as'market price'. The waiter told me that the sea bass was $46 so I ordered it but when the bill came, I was charged $70. Apparently that was the price per pound which I felt was a little dishonest. The rib steak was $92 which is excessive for this type of restaurant. The fries were very good & so was the saganaki cheese which was flambéd at our table.View more
With all the restaurants in Montreal I chose this restaurant for my 65th birthday. Although I hadn't been there in years my memory of having one of the best pieces of fish I ever had was there. As a pescatarian this was higher on my list. I suppose things have changed because I could no longer order a lovely fillet but had to buy a whole fish & there were none that were small enough to feed just one person. I pivoted to what I thought would be a tuna steak but ended up being tuna tataki & not many pieces. To be honest it was very underwhelming as I could get this pretty much anywhere. Wish I could have a do over but you only turn 65 once. After posting I received a response from Elounda inviting me to try again- no thanks, I have a list of other places that are now higher on my list. :)View more
Someone told me that Elounda spawned from Milos. It certainly feels like it did. If you like Greek food, but especially if you like fresh fish, this is the place for an upscale business lunch or special family supper. Here, you've been invited to a family friend's house from the days of old, when entertaining was an art. Hardy, home cooked, healthy dishes served by a staff that makes you feel at home. The service is impressively impeccable. How lucky are we to have you in our backyard?!View more
Among the best fish in the City, the fried zucchini & eggplant are amazing, the Greek salad is so fresh. Great serversView more
Venturing into Elounda, a Greek seafood haven, proved to be a culinary adventure that left a lasting impression. With a menu steeped in the rich flavors of the Mediterranean & an ambiance reminiscent of the Greek isles, Elounda delivered a delightful experience. The culinary journey began with a classic appetizer, the Kalamari, which showcased the chef's expertise in preparing this Mediterranean favorite. The succulent & perfectly cooked calamari set the tone for the feast that awaited. The Zucchini Fry, a delightful surprise, stole the spotlight with its crispy perfection & mouthwatering seasoning. Freshness was the hallmark of Elounda's Oysters, served with a burst of flavors that transported diners to the ocean's edge. The oysters were not only fresh but also a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality seafood. The star of the evening was the Fish Grill-an exquisite dish that encapsulated the essence of Greek seafood cuisine. Grilled to perfection, the fish was both tender & flavorful, offering a symphony of tastes that delighted the palate. The ambiance at Elounda added to the overall experience, with charming decor that reflected the warmth of the Mediterranean. The attentive service staff, clad in outfits reminiscent of the Greek coastal villages, contributed to the authentic atmosphere. While the culinary experience at Elounda was exceptional, it is regrettable that a slight tarnish occurred during the payment process. One service staff member, in a moment of unprofessionalism, pressed for a tip, suggesting a specific percentage. This incident, albeit unpleasant, did not overshadow the overall excellence of the dining experience. In conclusion, Elounda stands out as a must-visit for those seeking an authentic Greek seafood adventure. From the succulent Kalamari to the delightful Zucchini Fry & the exquisite Fish Grill, Elounda delivers a memorable gastronomic journey. Despite the minor hiccup, I highly recommend Elounda for its culinary prowess & inviting ambiance. Please note that individual experiences may vary, & this review reflects a personal perspective on a specific visit.View more
The food was fantastic. We had the fixed menu for four. Started with salad, grilled octopus, fried calamari, fried zucchini & eggplant. Octopus was perfectly prepared, as was the calamari. The zucchini & eggplant were perfectly crispy. The main course consisted of grilled fish, chicken & lamb chops accompanied by rice & vegetables. All were cooked to perfection. This was topped off with delicious loukoumades & coffee. A perfect meal with family!View more
I was invited by a family member. It is one of the best Greek restaurants I have tried so far.
I am a seafood person, but the oven baked fish was so delicious that even a picky person like me can't complain. Enjoyed a lot.
Very friendly staff, which I felt like at home.
Highly recommended.View more
This was an amazing find! We were just looking for simple Greek place & were impressed! They had an amazing array of off the market fish, fresh lobster (live) etc. All very authentic from the salads, apps & mains.
I would go for the whole fish as it is fresh & cooked to perfection. YUMMView more
I had come to Elounda after finding it one a yelp article of top restaurants to eat at so I guess I had some expectations for the dining experience. I have to say I was pretty disappointed.. I had the shrimp plate which was 50$ for 4 (large & good tasting) shrimp, a broccoli, an asparagus & a slice of carrot with rice, my partner had the porgy, which was 55$ for the fish alone. The bottle of wine was delicious, but our total bill came near 250$ & with the children yelling & screaming around the restaurant I don’t think the two went hand in hand, it was a very chaotic meal & I could barely hear myself talk. All in all I don’t think I’ll be going back.
The service though was really really good & our waiter took good care of us!View more
I enjoyed the attitude of the waiting staff.
The food was dissatisfying.
The crisp vegetables with batter were cold & chewy. The rice was dry. The vegetables that can with fish were bland & either over or undercooked.
The dessert was okay.
The grilled fish was lukewarm.
Now, I am comparing your food to Panama on West Island & what I have eaten on the Greek Islands.
I really liked the whole experience. Easy reservation, plenty of parking, nice ambience, courteous service & good food. So the only reason I don't give a 5 star is because although the fish plate was perfectly cooked, the octopus was a bit overcooked for my taste & that is supposed to be the specialty dish.
We were a party of 6 & did not look at menu, we let Catherine our waitress suggest appetizers & main course . From the Fred zucchini , grilled octopus to the main porgi fish meal the food was excellent! Catherine was a rock star as she timed the appetizers & meals perfectly, we were able to enjoy at our pace & have time to conversate. Place was packed with a great vibe. Would definitely recommend you visit if you love great food & excellent service!
The wait staff was great.
The food was delicious.
Had the eggplant & zucchini appetizer & the swordfish.
The veggies were crispy on the outside & creamy on the inside.. not greasy at all.
The fish had a good seasoning on the outside & moist on the inside.
Amazing restaurant, the fish & seafood is the freshest I've ever tasted & the service is excellent. We'll definitely be returning again.
