Food was delicious. Service was abysmal. First let me say that the food at this restaurant is outstanding. Really lovely dishes executed well. I made a reservation for 12 for my Best friends bachelorette weekend, & recut very kind very encouraging email back ensuring that they were extremely accommodating for dietary restrictions/preferences. As soon as we arrived I informed our waiter that we had one vegan in the group & if there was a way to accommodate her in the pre-fix menu courses. She said "of course, no problem." Great! Dishes start to arrive, including a delicious ceasar salad & asparagus dish . Nothing has been modified. Ok.... Maybe they're taking a while with the vegan options. Then the pizzas came, nothing. Our vegan friend had starting eating our crusts. Then the pasta dishes, at this point it's been an hour & a half since we sat down & our friend is starving. We politely asked our waiter several different times in between courses of the vegan fooos was coming, a salad dressed with a vinegary would suffice, & they kept saying "yes yes., sorry." They sent out a complementary drink for the table to apologize, but it was half finger of Paloma or some batch chill, hardly anything. I finakky got up out of my seat & go over to the bar & say "hi you know our friend still hasn't had anything to eat & she's very hungry, where is her meal?" & the waitress said that it was her mistake, she'd forgotten to put the orders in with the vegan modification, but she'd make sure the meal was made right now. Right now? It had been hours & we'd already prodded them three times. One of my friends even said "I thought we were being annoying with how many times we asked about it!" So then our friend FINALLY gets a bowl of pasta with red sauce. Everyone else has finished eating. She's like, hurrying to finish since they have a 2.5 hour limit for big groups. Then, insult to injury, I get the bill & the prefix menu has been charged for all 12 of us, including the vegan. I take a look & say, "please remove her from this bill she didn't get to eat anything." & they agreed. But then they came Back & handed our friend HER OWN BILL! Charging her for a kid's menu $17 charge. I was floored. We had bought several bottles of wine everyone got at least one cocktail, the bill was well over $1000 & here they were trying to charge our poor friend for her pathetic meal. We insisted she not have to pay, but the waitress countered that she had comp'ed some drinks for the table & wasn't that good enough? We were silent & in disbelief & the manager came over to ask what was wrong. We finally got them to drop her charge but OH MY GOD. I've never felt more absolute disregard or a lack of care for a group. We were polite, spent a ton of money & the least they could have done was eat the $17 dollars. I think that if they're not plant based friendly, they need to own up to that fact. (Several reviews on here suggest that they've treated other vegetarians & vegans similarly) or do better. Other restaurants email beforehand to gather any restrictions BEFORE the party even arrives so that everything goes smoothly. They should consider one of these two options.View more

I heard good things about Elena & I understand the hype now! We tried a lot of different kind of pizza & they were all very good. I generally prefer the ones with tomato sauce but I enjoyed trying different flavours. The pizza with the potatoes & the one with the mushrooms was nice to try. I didn't enjoy the 4 cheese one but that's just my preference. Their dough was the star of the show 10/10! It was delicious!View more

Honestly, the best appetizers I think I've ever had at any restaurant, ever. Tried the fried cauliflower, arancini, & red peppers with bread. I could've eaten just that for a meal. The Margherita & Diablo pizzas were delicious as well, & so was the pasta. Had a bit of gelato & an espresso afterwards, & the whole meal was only $65 (plus drinks). Crazy good value for eating out these days.View more

Heard a lot of good things about the pizza at this resto. We opted for the dany, the diavolo 2.0, the kale salad & gigli pasta. My favourite dishes were the Dany & the kale Caesar salad. The combination of the sweet honey & the chili oil was fantastic on the pizza. The kale Caesar was well executed & came in a pretty large portion. The service was also great! The pizza here is however comparable to a lot of other restos in Montreal. A bit more pricey but the quality is definitely there.View more

We came in from out of town to check Elena out & were not disappointed. Food was amazing & well thought out. Recommend the house made (?) cheese where available, the kale Ceasar & of course the pizza. Service tipped the scales for us, though. As restaurant industry folks ourselves we appreciated Lucas' recommendations, attentiveness, & thorough knowledge of the menu. The wine list is comprehensive, & Lucas truly knew the ins & outs. He also provided us with recommendations to best enjoy our visit to Montreal. 10/10View more

It is my fourth time coming to this restaurant. For 65$ you can feast on the best food of your life. The mushroom pizza is a must, so is the entree with the beets. The service is also incredible. I judge good service by wether or not my water ever gets empty. & it never does here. Someone will always be paying attention to your table making sure your glass is refilled. & this shows their care for your experience beyond judt water, of course. My favourite restaurant. Can't wait to come back.View more

Everything about our meal was soooo good. Fresh pasta, variety of brilliant pizzas, thoughtful cocktail menu, & the Kale Caesar is every bit as good as everyone says. A shining example of a kitchen that is preparing dishes with relatively simple ingredients but executing them at the highest level. Loved everything about our visit.View more

We tried two pizzas while here - the Amatriciana & the mushroom pizza. Between the two, the mushroom pizza was our fave as it was a more interesting flavour profile. We also tried the Italian soda, which was orange & vanilla flavoured, I found it to just be okay. It was super busy on a Sunday evening, but it was also their special anniversary night. I felt like it was hard to have a conversation given how loud it was in the restaurant & at times hard to even hear our server. Regardless it was a good experience & the mushroom pizza would be worth coming back for.View more

We were a group of 7. We all got different types of pizzas. I enjoyed the funguy pizza (mushroom pizza), margarita pizza was nice too. I liked the thin, crunchiness of the crust. As an appetizer I had the Suppli al Telefono, fried risotto with mozzarella, very nice & had a good crunch to it as well. They have a good option for wine, a lot of options to choose from! Over all I had a good experience, our server was very informative & helpful!View more

The Dany pizza was delicious & creative with the sesame spinach honey combo, but I didn't like how wet it was, like all the toppings just slide off as soon as you lift it up. The Gigi pasta was a interesting bitter mix of flavours with the fennel & arugula, but there was barely any sausage in it. Olive oil cake was nice but pretty dry compared to other olive cakes I've had. I know the cream+olive oil is there to compensate but it's not the same. Cannolis were delicious & well presented, available without the pistachios if you have an allergy. The Barbossa is a smooth young red wine accompaniment Service was very attentive & efficient. Glasses were never empty. Decor was typical modern industrial. If there was music, it wasn't memorable.View more

Take out; My Amex credit was expiring Dec31, I didn't have time to dine anywhere really during the holidays. I ordered them to go over the phone, went smoothly, ready in one hour even though the restaurant was quite busy, 4 pizzas & 3 pastas, nicely packed. All delicious & the best value ever. Really delicious dinner & lovely service. I thoroughly enjoyed the fungi pizza which had a generous mix of mushrooms. The crust in general was just spectacular- hot, light, & fluffy. The salads were also overflowing & the kale cesare specifically had a nice tart punch. The roasted beet dish had a nuance that was elevated by the sesame nut mix sprinkled on top. We ended the night with a beautifully dark chocolate tart. I would recommend Elena to anyone in the area.View more
